The greatest poet of Slovenia stands in this square with his muse atop while crowds of people meet friends or rest on the base of the monument. This is the place where all of Ljubljana meets. It is the intersection of the city streets with the rose-colored Franciscan Church offering its steps across from it. It is said that Preseren... More

This Square is the Centre of Ljubljana, and the pedestrian streets are going in all directions away from the Square. The statue of Preseren is also located here.

Well it's not Times Square... Sit down and read a book or watch the clouds. Simobil sells takeaway coffee nearby or get ice-cream from Cacao. Sometimes in the evening there will be a violinist playing which perfectly fits with the atmosphere. The downside are beggars in front of the Franciscan church, occasional italian or romanian scammers and too many musicians... More

This is basically meeting point that everybody knows. Close to great restaurants, ice cream, a strating point to enjoy old part of ljubljana. You can take a walk by river Ljubljanica or take a boat ride, really a lot of options to have a great day.

It should be the first place you go when you arrive at Ljubljana. It is a real heart of the city. A crossroad where you start your trip around Ljubljana. Most of the important places you want to see are really around the square. There is nothing special really but still it is a nice place where to meet with... More

Very lovely little square. As it turns out Preseren was a poet and a lawyer. Putting up a statue to poet and lawyer says a lot about the Slovenians, and that's a good thing.

Would recommend to any visitor to see the famous Slovenian poet. As the statue itself is in the middle of the city centre you will not have a hard time to find it. If you are lucky the statue will not have a beer can in its hands as this is what the locals sometimes do to make things a... More
