Best known red facade with some decorations. You can take some photos of Three bridges from the upper part of the staircase. Art lovers can admire main altar (Francesco Robba.) Experts can look at frescoes from 19. century (Matevž Langus). MAny visitors go to this church in December when they build huge Cribs.

This was a beautiful church and a nice way to spend some of the evening in the wintertime. The inside was very decorated and offered much more than we expected.

The first being the orthodox church of saints Cyril and Methodius by Tivoli park and the 2nd being St Nicholas's just across the river. The Franciscan church is a close 3rd but a bit dark. There are several side chapels each with impressive altars. The main altar is nothing to sneeze about with it's curved marble columns. The ceiling sports... More

This beautiful pink church was our landmark during a recent visit to Ljubljana. We could always get our bearings, find our hotel and orient ourselves when we could find the "pink church." It is beautiful from the outside but we attended mass on Sunday and so were able to not only enjoy the peaceful, calm service but see the beautiful... More

Very beautiful church. English/French/Italian ceremony is on Sun 11:15am. If you visit with children, go behind the main altar, at the right hand side there is some kind of playground.

It is located in a prime position in Preseren Square but I would not say it was the prettiest church in town despite its distinctive pink stonework. Inside is definitely worth a look with some nice paintings on the ceiling but not as grand as St Nicholas. Also it was very dark and difficult to really appreciate them. There is... More

The church was built between 1646 and 1660 and is the third on the spot, built by the Augustinians, who lived inside until the end of the 18th century. Due to financial instabilities, the facade was finished only in 1700. Later the church was taken over by the Franciscans, after whom it got its name and unusual colour. The frescoes... More

Just dropped in late one evening and was lucky to be a part of the holy mass for youngsters. Was amazing to see Christianity so alive in the hearts of these youngsters amid the bustle of the Square.

The church, which is dedicated to the Annunciation and run by the Franciscans, is in the centre of the popular square. Besides the beautiful paintings, catholics may join in the holy mass which is celebrated in various convenient times of the day. It was a pleasant surprise to see so many youngsters attending the Sunday mass at 9 p.m. with... More
