During the second WW Ljubljana was surrounded by the fence built by Italians who have occupied this area. Where the fence was, today is the path around the whole city. Around 30 km of a path. Thousands of people are walkinh there in green, enjoying being in nature so close to the city.A nice option for a tourists too -... More

It is a great path for walking or biking. But needs better memorial signs or picutres, so that people would know what happened during war. Every year in May it is a traditional march around it - or partially or whole path or run. Too many people walking it, should be a week thing (just my opinion).

I enjoy long city walks as a way of experiencing a city, my own or a city I am visiting. i couldn't help noticing the Path of Remembrance on the free city map and wondering whether it was possible to walk a significant portion as a visitor without car. With some help from the Tourist Office, I was pointed at... More

To us, the locals, it represents the everyday escape into the green. Mostly tree-lined and gravel paved, the path runs where Ljubljana was surrounded by a barbed wire fence during WW2 occupation. Accordingly, if you happen to be here the Saturday after Europe Day (9 May), you'll be amazed by the number of hikers and the atmosphere for the annual... More

The "POT" is a path way that goes around Ljubljana, it is about 35 km long, most of the way is a lovely path between the trees. If you happen to be with bike, I recommend to make this trip all along, it shouldn't take more than 4 hours unless you'd stop from time to time for a drink or... More

The Path of Remembrance and Comradeship or in Slovene: Pot spominov in tovarištva seems like a great idea for a smallish city like Ljubljana, especially to have such a visible and public way of remembering the past. We had hired bikes for the day and after a bit of riding around the city centre and up to the castle overlooking... More
