My wife loved the tour and the performance. It is in a lovely setting. Not easy to get to by public transport.
As someone who cannot ride a horse I am amazed at what these horses can do. The show was held in a barn like building with teired seats so everyone had a good view. These riders are awesome, getting horses to change step, stretch out their forelegs, walk sideways, jump, too many things to write down. They must be so... More
Good tour , we saw riding and training demonstration and then did a tour of the paddocks a stables with a very informative guide. You can get up close a personal to some of these beautiful; horses. We did this on a organised tour from our cruise ship and really enjoyed it. Highly recommended .
Our family (three girls ages 10, 11, 13) took the stable tour and watched a training session. We enjoyed both and thought both were informative. This is the place where the Lipizzaner breed was developed. They had a very interesting museum which was very kid friendly and we got to see lots of horses up close from foals to stallions.
I was a little worried about how to get here since there is really NO public transport to Lipica. I decided to rent a car, noting that I don't drive at all in Europe. I was surprised at how easy it was to navigate and to get around by car. I was able to leave from Ljubljana go to the... More
The Lipica stud farm is where the Lipissania breed originated and traditions are still being maintained. The tour will take you round the museum and grounds including entrance into the stables where you can see the stallions in the breeding program. No problems with stroking the horses although the guide will warn you if any should be avoided. They also... More
You cannot do the horses justice with a picture. Saw the Lipissania show which was 45 minutes and then went to the sted farm tour. The guide went over an above bring ing us to see the running of the horses at the end I the day to the stables. Throughout the tour we were able to pet the Lipissania... More
We had been to Postonja caves in the morning and came for the 3pm show on a Friday (check, as there are only 3 shows per week, currently Tuesday, Friday and Sunday) at 3pm. I always thought Austrian horses, but this is the original Lipissinar horses and stud farm and has the authenticity. The show (45 minutes) was in the... More
Adored the 3 days we spent here. Beautiful historic stud set in a gem of a setting. We stayed in the onsite resort and enjoyed all the wonderful facilities (casino, pool, carriage rides, restaurants). During the day I had a riding lesson on a stunning Lipizzaner stallion. Awesome place.
We took the 1 1/2 hour tour of the farm. t was very interesting. A nice side trip when driving from one place to another. Our guide was very knowledgeable and could answer all our questions. I wish I was able to to see a performance. I am sorry we did not arrive in time to take the dressage tour.
