Not really into horses but 'she' loves them. This is the stud farm where the white 'dancing' Lippizaner horses are bred. They're born black and then turn white. They put on a dressage show which showed how expertly they're trained. Interesting, even for a non horsey person.

We'd visited the Lipica Stud Farm on the 3rd week of December. In fact we went to Lipica as was suggested by our guide as we had an hour plus free time before the tour at Skocjan Cave starts. As it was the low season, the whole stud farm was quite empty. We were probably the only visitors at that... More

You don’t have to be a lover of horses or history to visit Lipica, Slovenia . . . but it helps. This tiny village situated a few miles east of Trieste, Italy, encompasses a concentration of international culture and equine athleticism equaled by no other location on earth. Hippophiles will be in heaven, surrounded by 355 pureblooded Lipizzaners whose name... More

The performance in horses is very interesting, as well as guided visit to the stables. It's a great ride for kids.. We had imagined we could see the free horses, as the photos on the website, but it was not possible

We expected more. I was in Lipica some years ago and it was possible to walk around on your own. Guided tour can be better and not as instant as it is. A big step on for the tourist presentation is Museum Lipicum. It is small but interesting for different generations. What we miss are real horses and not too... More

You need to appreciate horses for this tour. It was an interesting short tour of the stud farm and our guide provided nice to know details about how the stallions are cared for and selected for different types of performances. It was a nice stop on our way to the Slovenian coast!

The farm is quite hard to get to if you do not have a car and if you are not a horse lover, it's not worth the trip. However, if you are traveling nearby, it's worth a stop. But if you are doing using public transportation, make sure you get your hotel to arrange for a taxi to pick you... More

My wife loves horses and she thought the day was very good. As for me - I thought it was ok. It was an interesting couple of hours, The tour was ok - a little slow at times. I can see the extent of the practice and training evident in the show - my wife thought it was very good... More

The tour was about how they specifically handle there horses. There was no general interesting horse info. If you absolutely love horses you will probably like it, if not look elsewhere for something to do. 3 times you walked through inside horse stables but you were not supposed to touch them. The show with choreographed dancing was really lame. There... More

This historic stud farm is exactly that, a historic stud farm with a brilliant history and stories. My wife loves horses, me not so much, but I was excited to see these legendary animals. The grounds and buildings are nice enough but you really have got to LOVE horses to go on this trip. The show was rather underwhelming.
