Despite not being a big horse-lover, I enjoyed my visit. The grounds are nice in themselves, our guide mentioned that they plant a new linden tree (Slovenia's national tree) every time a foal is born. Although the guide who took us around the stables rambled a bit and it wasn't that easy to follow what he was saying (I think... More

If you like horses go. We went because I do. My husband is not so keen but still found it interesting. Time your visit for a day and time when there is a performance. You must join a guided tour (several languages available) of the farm and stables which is very informative and includes a visit to an excellent little... More

If you like horses, then this is a must. The visit to the stud farm gives you the opportunity to learn the history and what happens today and see the horses up close, including the foals. You also get to see a 45 dressage display, which, at times is almost tear jerking it is so beautiful. There is an interesting... More

We ended up here escaping bad weather in Bled. I wished we'd planned ahead because many of the most interesting experiences are available only once in a day or on particular days of the week. In our case we joined a tour of the museum and stables which was mildly interesting but did not justify the trip even for horse... More

Not only is the location beautiful (if you forget the unfortunate hotel-and-casino complex) but the riding worth the trip. I had the opportunity to go trail riding with one of the riding instructors, just the two of us across woods and lanes, and it was both a lesson in riding (just had to watch his position to see that after... In our itinerary we tied this with Skocjan Caves which are only 30mins away. We went on a Tues as we wanted to see the Lippizanner show too. Although I wouldn't describe us as a very animal-friendly family, we all enjoyed the visit, but in all honesty if we missed the show it would have been a bit flat.

We had an interesting and informative tour of the stud farm and small museum, well worth a visit taking about 90 minutes to complete

We visited at the end of the day and booked a guided tour. The tour started late as the horses had to come to the stables first. A brilliant sight to see approx. 200 horses going past in a couple of minutes. There were only 2 people on the tour-my wife and I. What a treat we were in for.... More

This is the real home of the world-famous Lippizaner horses, stars of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. The setting is fabulous - large wooden-fenced paddocks with trees as you approach. The ticket office staff were friendly and efficient. We took the guided tour which in our case started with the afternoon performance in the main riding hall. We then... More

After staying in Piran and then heading towards Bled I found out that the Lipizzaner stud was only a short detour away. Having seen the Spanish riding school perform and visited their stables in Vienna it was a non brainer decision. This really is a great stop for anyone who's into horses. There are a number of tours available in... More
