This lillle (three room) museum commemorates a way of life which has ended within living memory. One room is a reconstructed mountain hut, dismantled in the hills and rebuilt in the museum. There's also a collection of cheese making and other implements. Worth a visit if you have half an hour to fill.

Mostly old photos with Slovenian and English test, but lots of old cheese making and alpine living displays including the interior of an old chalet. I learned much more here than in a similiar museum in Zermatt.

We ducked in here partly out of interest and partly to avoid a sudden shower. It's only small, but gives a great insight into a disappearing way of life.

The location is charming and right across from one of my favorite restaurants having remembered it from 14 years ago.

I was attracted to the museum because of my interest in dairy farming, but it's actually more of a look into the lives of the local villagers. There are exhibits of how products such as yogurt and cheeses are made in the homes and photos of the farmers at their work and in their homes. One room is an actual... More

This little local museum in Stara Fuzina documents alpine dairy production in the Bohinj area with plenty of implements and photos. The great surprise is how recently the very traditional hand-made, hand-carried cheese making tradition in alpine pastures still subsisted. There is still at least one cheese maker present at 1400m but nothing like the large numbers as late as... More

This is a very interesting place that takes about 10 minutes of your time but it is well worth a visit. Your Bohinj guest card should get you a discount rate . Some great artefacts on display.

Great little museum. Really interesting and very knowledgable staff. Lots of local artefacts, photos etc of a way of life that has shaped the landscape and is now changing.
