Description: Vogel is one of the most beautiful and popular ski resorts in the winter...
Vogel is one of the most beautiful and popular ski resorts in the winter, and the most popular high mountain centre in other seasons. Our slogan “Vogel. Like a Fairy Tale.” is the perfect description of our resort in every season of the year, and we plan to increase our profile with it and give our visitors this fairy-tale feeling. We are determined to seize the opportunities offered by our location in the heart of the Triglav National Park (TNP). Vogel cable car takes you to 1535 metres above sea level throughout the year (except during the maintenance periods). In this way viewpoints high in the mountains are easily accessible and also make an excellent starting point for hikers. You can choose from single or return cable car tickets. The cable car can transfer up to 950 people per hour. The Orlove glave quad chairlift also operates during the summer season (mid-June to end of September) and provides a single or a return ride in the pleasantly refreshing summer climate. It stops at the top of Orlove glave with a paragliding take-off point close by.

We took the cable car up and spent a few hours exploring the Julian alps. The cable car ride was fantastic but a bit scary for those scared of heights! Once at the top take photos on the viewing deck right outside the cable car - once you go inside you can't get onto that deck again until you leave... More

Don't know about skiing there , but if you want a great place to hike in the summertime , take the Vogel tram to the top and discover all lengths of hiking trails . The views are spectacular , and there's a restaurant up there where you can have a nice lunch while admiring the fantastic view.

We went up the cable car in June. The views at the top were just incredible. I believe the cafes in the cable car buildings at the bottom and top were open but we didn't use them. At the top, all other cafes, restaurants, and hotels were shut so they must only open for winter skiing visitors and not summer... More

We took the cable car up, hiked almost to the summit of Vogel and then walked all the way down. The cable car was fine. There was a nice lodge to grab a bite at the top. We walked down but wouldn'g recommend it. Some of the hike was nice, through an old forest, but most was hiking down a... More

From the breathtaking views and variety of slopes Vogel is in my top 3 places to ski. You are almost guaranteed snow because of the altitude and if you visit on a blue sky day the views are literally breathtaking. Partly due to the altitude and cold :)

Quick ride up the modern cable car 13.50 euro return, extensive area of high ground with walks to nearby peaks. Signposting not very clear, you need a good map!

We took the gondola in this week and I must say, that even though we are afraid of heights we were so happy we did it. It is so beautiful up there! The ride up is quite scary, but fast thankfully. :) We went hiking and it is better to go without a stroller, just with a manduca or carry... More

the cable car up to Mt Vogel is the steepest in Europe apparently. Takes 4 mins to reach the summit at 1500m from the bottom which is at 500m above sea level. There is a typical ski- resort cafe at the top but there is free wifi, clean toilets and cheap prices. Coffee is €2 and tea a bit cheaper.... More

One of the issues with going up the Vogel in early May is this you are pretty much in the trough of off season. With the exception of the main building where the cable car docks there is nothing else open at the top. Sadly, none of the other chairlifts were in operation either. Unlike when I was here in...
