Perfect combination of intriguing mediaeval castle and breathtaking view over Bled Island. The history ranging from religious royalty to communist takeover is fascinating, but the elevated view from the ramparts over the beautiful blue water of Lake Bled framed by the alps behind make this a must see.

Inside the castle one could see things and furniture used in old days when people used to live in it. One could take pictures inside and outside. One can taste wine and also buy souveniers. There is also a coffee shop. The view was excellent.

The view from the castle is wonderful, but the castle in itself is pretty uninteresting. Luckily we did not have to pay any entrance fee since we were there for a wedding dinner.

Absolutely worth the steep walk up from Lake Bled. The castle is quite small but the view are stunning. They have concerts at the castle during the summer and I really wish I'd had the chance to go. Cafe doesn't open till 10 which is a bit of a shame as it's a wonderful place to sit and admire the... More

I was in Bled for 4 days and loved every day there. As a matter of fact I still say to my wife of 40 years that I could spend the summer there. The castle was a great afternoon trip and after a walk about in the castle one could enjoy a great evening overlooking the city of Bled. Great... More

It is accessible by car or by climbing steps from the lake side. It is worth a visit for the view alone. Apart from the typical castle elements (which aren't great) there a couple of cafes and a restaurant. You can also help bottle your own bottles of wine (including corking, labelling and sealing with wax etc). If you visit... More

So to me this castle is a view point, not really a historical place. There are various little bits to do like a small ethnographic museum and a little wine shop etc, but to be honest they wouldn't be worth the entrance fee alone and we were done looking around everything in about 40 minutes. What is worth it is... More

What a location!! The views are amazing from Bled Castle. This was the best part in my opinion. The castle itself is nice but it's all about the view! Entrance was €9. There are some artefacts and a museum in some of the buildings and plenty of places to sit around to look at the view. Well worth a visit.
