We paid the entrance fee of 8 eur (which is quite a lot compared to many other sites!) expecting to actually see the inside of the castle. But you don't. The view is great, true, but you can also see it from outside. There's a tiny museum and shops - felt more like a mini-shopping mall than a castle.

It's easy to overlook the hike up this picturesque promontory when you're loving the lake, but make the effort, the view is stellar even if the keep is closed.

Highly recommend if you are visiting Bled. The view from Bled castle is breathtaking! It's absolutely gorgeous just like a painting. If I remember correctly it costs about 8 Euro for entrance fee. Fantastic views of the lake. The museum is of good size for my liking and interesting. Child friendly. There is a restaurant but we have not visited as have made other plans.

Bled Castle is a beautiful castle perched high up on a hill top. It isn't a huge place, but offers some of the most spectacular views from the castle grounds of the surrounding valley and mountain range.
