Came here with friends after having visited solo twice. They would not believe me initially about the awesomeness of the view. Now we are back, they look on it as one of their great experiences. The view from anywhere across the turquoise coloured lake is wonderful. However, the view from up high is breathtaking. I would love to go back... More

The distance cloud looked threatening as we reached the lake. On the contrary we had a lovely time catching the horse ride, kayaking and a visit to the castle. Don't be put off by the clouds!

It takes about one and a half hours to walk around the lake. I would recommend going. For one thing you meet ducks on your way around so it's fun to stop and feed them. You also get to see the island from a different angle and there's little restaurants around that you could stop at on the way. I... More

Lake Bled is one of the most beautiful lakes in Slovenia, though nearby Lake Bohinj is bigger and as scenic. Lake Bled is about 3km from Podhom/ Zasip, two small villages on the Jesenice-Nova Gorica train line. The journey train journey from Jesenice to Bled Jezero is very scenic as the train chugs through small villages, alpine meadows, river and... More

Easy walk around the lake, taking a couple of hours or so. Very picturesque and clean. It just happened there were lots of motor bikes when we were there but a one-off event nearby so not a permanent feature.

Once Slovenia becomes better known on the international holiday circuit I predict that Lake Bled will become one of the most photographed places in the world. There is a very good footpath that goes all round the lake and at all points there are fabulous photographic opportunities, whether of the Church on the island or of the dramatic castle high... More

Beautiful views from every angle, tranquil areas to just sit and contemplate as well as busy areas for those that want more activity.

It is a pity that the hotel is on the road. Not much wildlife in the area. Otherwise all was very relaxing. A boat trip to the island with its old church is a must as is a visit to the castle with its museum. A trip to the nearby gorge is fantastic. Also there is a mountain sled ride... More

Without doubt Lake Bled is stunning....we stayed in a small very comfortable hotel on the banks of the lake and the first night our six year old went onto the pathway that you can walk around the lake and came running back to tell us Rasputins' Castle was just around the corner. There was something to see everywhere that was... More
