Lake Bled is indeed beautiful and from a distance so is the town of Bled. However, the concrete monstrosities which make up the leading hotels on the lake front detract from the view when you look back. I am told that these hotels were built in the communist era when this was apparently not so important. However, there are enough... More

Lake Bled is just an amazing place to visit. The town was a popular holiday spot for Europeans 100's of years ago due to their spring waters. The lake is beautiful and a great place to swim in warm weather. You can catch a little boat out to the little island which is well worth doing.

Lake Bled is a truly beautiful place. Instead of paying for entry into the castle, sneak through the construction site to the right and climb the old steps to the dangerous viewpoint on top. This is not to be missed! Rent a boat and row to the island, or, if you're a keen swimmer, swim across!

Lake Bled is a very nice surprise for such a popular place. Although busy it's very unspoilt and the local hiking trails around the lake and up to the gorge are lovely. Definitely visit the gorge, it's stunning. The town itself is still mostly authentic and delightful to wander around. Restaurants are a little pricey but I guess that's to... More

This reminded me of Switzerland. It was surrounded with mountains (even snowcapped in the distance). No motor boats but had rowing crews practicing and little tour boat rowed by one individual out to the island church or around the lake. Loved this area.

Beautiful lake with a small island and dramatic mountains rising up from the edges. Hike around the lake (3.5 miles) for postcard views and good places to have a drink, picnic, or lunch. Well worth a day or two on your visit to Slovenia.

Lake Bled is stunning! We were vacationing in Croatia and I read that our vacation wouldn't be complete without visiting Slovenia - in particular, Lake Bled. Its a charming little village with beach front surrounded by mountains. The people were very friendly.

Less than one hour from Ljubljana by bus. A placid and refreshing place, above all in summertime, You can take a pleasant bathe. Beach staying costs 5e.
