Small lake and if you have the time and energy, walk completely around the lake. The views are fabulous from all sides. Seeing Bled castle at the top of the rock and the beautiful church on Bled Island. You may even see a few rowers gliding serenely over the water. The alps are in the distance with Austria's border just... More

This is a very peaceful little town by the lake. Beautiful sceneries. Lots of places for walks. The mountains surrounding the lake are breathtaking. You may want to spend one night but you can easily stay in Ljubjana instead where there is more to do and come for the day. It's only about a half hour drive.

My friend and I spent a day at Lake Bled as part of our 4 month trip to Europe, it was one of the best day-trips we did... absolutely magical!!!!! We caught a bus from Ljubljana (1.5hrs) and spent the day exploring. We kick started our day with coffee in a cute local cafe then walked in to the main... More

Beautiful area. Clean and tidy. Lots of families out for a stroll. Good cafes and interesting shops. Leisurely boat trip to the island which was really interesting and we rang the bell!

Our visit was a bit rushed but still we managed to walk right around the lake. You can do it in about an hour without stopping. However I would recommend taking your time, stopping at the lovely cafes and vantage points all the way around, and also taking a trip out to the church on the island in the middle... More
