We had a great day at Lake Bohinj. We walked around the lake (approximately 3 hours), swam (unlike Bled, you can swim anywhere) and enjoyed Bohinj's more raw and less touristy feel. Savica Slap (waterfall) is worth a visit too, if you can find the right buses. There are a lot of reviews saying Bohinj is far better than Bled.... More

Amazing lake, beautiful nature. An ancient church stand near by the lake, impressive structure. Recommend to visit.

We had the best day of our holiday on a day trip from Lake Bled to the area around Lake Bohinj. The drive is stunning, winding more and more narrowly up to the waterfall (slap) at the western end of the lake. It's a long climb to the top, but it's beautiful. We took the cable car halfway up the... More

Lake Bohinj, at 4.2km long by 1km wide, is Slovenia’s largest permanent lake. Its brooding and mystical feel are encouraged by the steep mountain faces and the alpine beauty in its background. As commercialized and touristy Lake Bled is, Lake Bohinj is the exact opposite with its wide vast of water body seemingly going on infinitely in front of you... More

We went from Bled to Bohinj in a Sunday morning by bus (3,6 eur per person). We arrived to the lake in about 40 min and we decided to go to the Vogel cable car to see the spectacular view of the Julian alps (13,5 euro o return trip )After that we walked to Savica waterfall. It took us about... More

I want to go back!! I loved this place. Simply amazing. We arrived and went right to the tour boat ride which was great. The boat takes you to another area where you can get on the cable car to the mountain. The lake is laid back, quiet, peaceful and just amazing. There are not a whole lot of people... More

A simple lake and a small one when compared to Bled. But very much visited by tourists and a neat walk around it would be very relaxing.

If you are in Slovenia, or even if you are in one of the nearby countries like Croatia or Italy, please go and visit Lake Bohinj, and then of course Lake Bled. We were simply unprepared for what we were to see. Absolutely stunning. Lake Bohinj has the natural beauty, whilst Lake Bled is a little more developed, but both... More

Lovely scenery, I much prefer this to Bled, it is less touristy. I took the tourist boat across it which was really relaxing and scenic, it was out of season and the boat was quiet, the girl on the boat was really chatty and helped me plan some hikes with the map and what the do in the area the...
