The nature is perfect, the locals are keeping the nature almost untouched. well organized, plenty of accommodation, restaurants and walking and biking routes.

A couple month ago I have been with chinese familiy at lake Bohinj. They said it was a lovely day for them and they had fun. Family ( Husband and wife with a child) was deligeted about my work and my adapting to them and their needs. Lake Bohinj is very nice lake, big with cold water in which we... More

Stunning place to stay, very quiet and tranquil if you're looking for a peaceful get away. We enjoyed our stay here much more than Bled as it has much fewer tourists and wish we had just done a day trip to bled instead as it is only 30 mins away buy bus which run every hour.

This is a bigger lake than Lake Bled so we only had time to walk half way round, about 6km. Easily reached from Bled by local bus through lovely countryside and very pretty villages. A lovely walk mainly along wood side paths. Superb views of the mountains. At the head of the lake you can take the gondola up Mount... More

Lake Bohinj is the lesser known so many travellers do not go the extra 45 minutes bus ride. But it's worth the effort. The Hunters trail through the forest we had to ourselves and went from one end of the lake to the other taking one and a half hours ending at the Vogel ski lift. Worth paying to go... More

The area around lake Bled in Slovenia is rich in natural wonders and versatile scenery. The Triglav National Park is also in the vicinity. As with other towns near tourist attractions (and lake Bled is probably the number one attraction in the country), it has become touristy, highly commercial and with all the hotels and tourists services that are part... Although I had read various reviews and articles proclaiming the beauty of this lake I was still stunned when it first came into view. Granted, we were fortunate with nice bright weather, but when we saw the sparkling water, with the mountains beyond and a thick ribbon of cloud floating across the middle of the mountains like a silk scarf... If you visit Gorenjska region in Slovenia and go to Bled lake, than you have take just half of hour more drive to Bohinj lake. There are less people if you want peace, very clean water for swimming and very nice places around the lake to visit. Also the mountains and some good traditional restaurants.

This is a very beautiful quiet lake. Not as noisy as Garda in Italy. Very clean lake. Fantastics views on the lake and mountains. We took a boat trip on the lake and we did trekking and swimming. All was very enjoyable. Water was cold and very clean. Must see...

This is really one of the most stunning lakes that I've ever seen. Peaceful, enjoyable and breathtaking. You can either just walk around the lake (it is very easy to access its many small beaches) or you can decide to rent a boat. You will definitely NOT regret it. It costs 15 euros to rent a boat for an hour.... More
