Amazing lake. Unbelievable clean water with lot of fish swimming between your legs. Swimming in Bohinj lake is wonderful experience. Water smell on clean as drinking water. Better for walk then Bled. Much bigger then Bled. Cheaper than Bled.As I said. ..amazing. Worth of your money and time.

The area is lovely and unspoiled. Getting to the area was easy by road with a hire car from Ljubljana (coming from Bled). There were excellent walks near and around the lake and we did swin at the lake. Kids love it. Nearby do not miss Vogel Cable (stunning view from the top) and the waterfall.

Lake Bohini, only 25 min away from famous lake Bled is a beautiful, peaceful area for relax, sight seeing and hiking. It is still only moderately developed, with great info offices, very few restaurants and coffee shops and small viligaes. You would probably stay in a short term rental apartment in people homes. They are bery welcoming, places are simple,... More

I stayed for a week in May for the first week of the wildflower festival. The area was lovely and unspoilt with wildflower meadows and woodland with excellent ground floral within several hundred yards of the lake. Getting to the area was easy by road with a hire car from the airport and my hotel was very close to the... More

Beautiful lake set in the mountains... we had a fantastic time at Bohinj and certainly prefer the natural beauty of Bohinj over the bustling crowds of Bled. The water was warm and clear and was wonderful for swimming. You can hire a Canoe and go for a paddle... just a fantastic experience. Would definitely recommend.

We parked in Ukanc and found a small beach just over the bridge to the right. There were only a few people there (and plenty of fish waiting from crumbs!). It's very serene and the strikingly clear water is irresistible.

After a 15min walk from the parking you are rewarded with crystal clear water and a beautiful view to the Julian Alps. Water never gets warm as in Lake Bled, but this place is less touristic. Bring yoga-mat with you as well the ground is stoney and maybe some water-shoes if you are not comfortable walking on stones.

On my last day in Slovenia I got a bus to Bohinj from Ljubljana, hired a bike from Sports4Fun in Camp Danica and cycled to Lake Bohinj. All you can see around is mountains, nature and the river. I was out for two hours in 35°c, Lake Bohinj is stunning. It was bliss.

If youre looking to cool off and go for a swim, this is the place to go. The lake is large and beaches are nicely set up for families and all. This is a much better place to swim compared to Bled.
