This street has been totally rebuilt due to the bombing of WW2, as was most of Warsaw. Plenty of shops and restaurants of all sorts with buses to take you to where you want to go.

Very nice to walk from the new city centre via the nowy swiat to the old city center (or vice versa). The nowy swiat is a beautifull street, where you pass by a lot of nice buildings. Plenty of places to stop for a drink.

This is a very nice area if Warsaw where both tourists and Varsovians like to come - be it for a walk, shopping or eating. There are a number of restaurants, cafes, stores and pretty little streets to roam AND its close to the city center - two tram stops away (or 5-7 minutes on foot). And if you start... More

Nice street for shopping and restaurants. We made a mistake and got into a "taxi" on the square in Old Town. He did not have a taximeter in the car, so we gradually understood he was a fraud. He drove like crazy, up to 120 km/h in 50 zone. He wanted 50 euros for a few kilometers. Normal price should... More

Nowy Swiat reminds somehow of the fact, that Warsaw was a part of the Russian Empire- something undefinable is a bit russian. In general Poland wasn't happy under the Tzars, but this street is really pleasant

Probably the most attractive street in Warsaw. Great for shopping and spending your pounds. Lovely leather goods also but does not feel commercial.

Beautiful Old Town but very small and no Christmas market. One time walking is enough to see everything here.

A rough comparison would be NY's 5th Ave., without the traffic. The streets are lined with numerous shops, restaurants and cafes. Also on this street is the presidential palace, Warsaw University, the upscale Bristol Hotel, three historic churches, etc. and it's completely walkable. Traffic is light, but numerous buses use this street. It's a pleasant stroll, especially in winter when... More

This street is considered the "Royal Mile" as it runs from the old palace of the king down South for about a mile. There is lots of shops, cafés and restaurants and you should not miss this, when in Warsaw. It is a counterpart to the high risers being built all over the place, as the houses here are old... More
