This tour is a lot more then the standard castle or palace tour. To hear about the history of this castle during and after the war is amazing.

The sobriety of the red facade of the building hides a rich interior design that blends the styles of the XVIIe and XVIIIe centuries and 1st Empire .The original castle was built in the 14th century by the Dukes of Mazowie. it was transformed in baroque style and became the seat of Polish kings and the Chamber of Deputies of... Reincarnation of a beautiful replica. We could see it from outside only, but that itself was good enough to imagine the grandeur of the past.

Again, the tour guide kept apologizing that the building is not original (history of the castle and reconstruction is in the basement and consists of three media presentations. The rooms are lovely, but it is the amazing art that really caught my attention. There are paintings by Matejko, the most famous Polish painters ( one of the others hangs at... More

From Castle square you are met with a sharp red fronted building, to some extent uninspiring. What you soon discover once you enter the castle (having visited the ticket office) is an impressive wide staircase, winding up to a floor of grandiose rooms. Perfectly recreated state rooms with gold leaf details, ceilings that blow you away, to the point you... More

Was not expecting the sheer opulence of this attraction, it has been restored beautifully, a must visit attraction in Warsaw.

Really beautiful castle that was partially destroyed during WWII and restored with the help of many countries aid in the war's aftermath. Thankfully, a portion of the artwork and furnishings were removed from the castle in 1939 prior to the complete occupation by the Germans. Well worth a look when visiting Old Town Warsaw.
