Nice place

Very near to the old town that has been rebuilt after the destruction of Warsaw in world war2. New year celebration is fun over there.

The Royal Palace is in the heart of the Old Town Square. The facade has been restored to a tapestry color of a rich dark pink. The entrance fee is 22 złt for an adult. There are concessions for students and pensioners. The staff are adamant that you remove all coats and jackets before proceeding to the royal castle tour.... More

I have a fascination with castles and palaces. They are so extravagant. This one is no exception. However, the museum is a must see. We learned so much about the history of Poland and how WWII effected the city. The mear fact that this building was flattened to a pile of rubble and rebuilt to its former glory is stupendous.... On Google there is a photo of a heap of burnt bricks - entitled, "1945 the Polish Royal Castle. The now museum was opened to the public in 1984, and now we all can enjoy the very lucky experience of visiting a new Royal Palace. So as you wander around Palaces built hundreds of years ago, you can obtain a... More

I was impressed by the interior - stunning paintings depicting historical scenes and portraits of Polish kings, the Throne Room, the Knight's room. The Castle was destroyed during World War II like most of the city and was reconstructed in 1980 and listed as part of UNESCO's cultural heritage. Great starting point for a tour in the Old Town !

Very nice museum, depicting how Polish royalty used to live. The castle itself was mostly renovated, but it provides a good example of how royalty lived, and the history is well-presented. On my visit there was a classical orchestra rehearsing in one of the halls, which gave it another authentic flavor... Very recommended!

It is amazing how this building was destroyed during WWII but many of the paintings were saved and historians have worked diligently to restore the castle to its former appearance based on old photographs and artwork and furniture that was saved. I definitely recommend visiting- many beautiful rooms and paintings, but the history of the building and how people worked... More

I have been to see the Royal castle on a Sunday and it was free. It was amazing how the rebuilt the place from the total destruction during WWII. I had a quick look around and probably I should have taken the audio guide to understand more about the paintings and its history. I will say it's worth a visit... More
