Nice little square for people watching - get a beer in one of the touristic restaurants, don't go there for food (not worth it), just settle with drinks while you relax and enjoy the many people

If you take one of the tours, I took the free walking tour of Warsaw, you will find the history of this square interesting. The Sigismund Column was the only part of this square to survive WWII. The reconstructed palace is a very interesting part of Warsaw history.

One surley feels history wile walking the streets of Warsaw despite nearly every thing being renewed. There are plenty of souvenir shops and restaurants and the service in general is very respetuous and kind.

Scenic, charming and leads right into the old and new towns. Lines of restaurants, cafe, gift shops, ice cream shops. You get a good view of the stadium also, many people just sit and enjoy the great weather in the summer. This is where the free tours start, right by the statue. Can get quite crowded as the day goes... More

The older part of Warsaw and one of the few places where old architectures still sit smug (a large part of Warsaw was destroyed during WWII and was restored with modern architecture) Wonderful place to hang out on weekends. The crowd and atmosphere around are charmingly infectious! Couples locked in love, people sitting at the open restaurants with beer mugs,... More

Not very special as an old town square, but it is central and the statue is a landmark to meet up with friends. There are cafes around to sit and people watch. Kind of sad that it had to be rebuilt because of the WWII destruction of Warsaw. Still not to be missed as a site to see when visiting... More

You can spend a whole day wandering around here and the cobbled streets nearby. Take in the sights, the history and enjoy a multitude of cafe's, shops (many specialise in Amber and jewelry products) and tourist attractions. Its 'very touristy' but still cheap enough.
