Although most of Krakowskie Przedmiescie is a reconstruction, faithfully rebuild after World War II in accordance to old historical paintings, the place has a clear atmosphere of past greatness. Thanks to more recent traffic limitations , pedestrians can move freely. Like other places, there is a number of tourists traps both souvenir -shops and restaurants, so don't be naive. We... More

It is pretty long street where you can admire beautiful architecture and in every a couple yards there are monuments, churches, president palace, Warsaw university and other. You cannot be bored there. Some nice cafes, bars and restaurants. It is amazing to walk there. At my last visit there was lots of beautiful Christmas decorations and street lights. Definitely recommend... More

... have a break in one of the restaurants (they will be expensive) see Presidential palace, perhaps you will see also a bunch of not really sane people defending non-existent cross... a bit like tourist path with elements of zoo

A continuation of Nowy Swiat but with more emphasis on architecture rather than shops and restaurants. We spent a couple of hours walking the area and were fortunate to visit when the Christmas lights were in full glory. A busy area with plenty of tourists flowing through.

This street is the link between old town and shopping street. You definitely have to walk this several times while staying in Warsaw

Some years ago was much more charming and nicer than nowadays. Both tourists and local people make this street sometimes hard to be transited. Still, on a "quiet" day, some buildings can be better appreciated and observed. Ah!, by the way, despite plenty of local people still believe it, the pictures/drawnings were NOT made by the real Canaletto.

These street offers a unique atmosphere and you should book some time for an enjoyable walk not matter if you are heading for Royal Castle or just hanging around. Free from car traffic, the street is full of outdoor restaurant gardens during a summer time and beautifully lit with decoration in December. Do not miss the place.

I usually take a walk from New Town to Warsaw University and back - it`s around 2km in one side. The best part of Warsaw with nice coffeeterias, etc. During winter session on New Town there is an icerink and on the Old Town big xmas tree and decorations.
