You will find him in the Old Town Square. Except from the northern side of the square all streets leading to it are pedestrian ones, so it... More

And they should be! It's the statue of copernicus and it meant a lot of how we regard astrology at the moment. It's located right in the city centre.

I wanted to write a review for the golden donkey located in the center of Torun, but had to settle for Copernicus's statue because it had a page. All in all though, definitley worth seeing.

Mikołaj Kopernik (Nicolaus Copernicus) is obviously the most famous Torun citizen ever. His monument is a replice, but looks almost the same as the older one. The only one place for this monument is on the most popular place in the city - old market near the City Hall. If you are on the beginning of May, you have a... More

A nice statue to see and have some photo's taken with but nothing to special. Nice thing is that it is located at the main square so you will definitely come across it.

If you are meeting friends in the Old Town Square this is the usual place. Everyone is always taking pictures and it is always full of people, even at midnight on a school night, because of the proximity of different clubs and pubs.

Seems to be the central point of Torun and a great meeting point. However, I don't recommend making the Monument one of your trip destinations.

A photo at this spot is a mandatory ritual for all visitors. Be prepared to wait your turn. Statue dates from 1853 so it too has earned its place in history. The nearby so-called Raftsman monument with the frogs is more fun!
