If you come to Torun, you have to have the picture of this monument; this is where people meet and probably one of the most famous landmarks in town. Be patient to get a good picture since it is normally quite crowded and busy.

A monument of Copernicus was erected in central place of Torun, just in front of the town hall. A famous astrononer born in Torun who moved the Earth and stopped the Sun and the sky - as we say in Poland. We were lucky enough to be there on a day of some student feast and on such days the... More

The monument is located right in front of the Old Town Hall and it's a very popular spot to take pictures. So it seems to be always crowded. But it's location is great and it is definitely worths seeing while in the square.

The statue itself is very nice & a must see. If you go on or are part of a tour the story of the man is far more interesting

The statue is OK, as far as statues go. Not especially beautiful, but the old master certainly deserves one.

If you come to Toruń you need to know who Nicolaus Cpernicus was. He is the son of the city and his monument mount over the market square and is the most regonizable meeting pint for bth the inhabitants and tourists.

The Nicolaus Copernicus statue in the old town square adjacent to the Old Town Hall is worth the trip to Torun. It certainly provided a number of photo opportunities. There are a number of food and beer venues around this statue.
