The Town Hall is situated in the center of the Old Town. It is pretty nice place, inside there is a museum. Some days in the week the tower is open for night visits. The city is clearly seen from the top. I really advise you to go up the tower - the city is worth seeing. There is an... More

Many steep narrow stairs to go up the tower but the reward is breathtaking views of the pretty city and its great architecture.

Great collections and knowledgeable stuff on the floors. You need lot of time to see all in detail. Some of rare painting masterpieces worth deeper study. Wonderful artifacts from Torun's rich guild traditions. Great building and architectural details, specifically inlaid doors upstairs, such as King Solomon;s Court, simply unbelievable. The lady on ticket desk was a bit annoyed that we... More

I didn't visit the rest of the town hall, just went up the tower. Quite a climd (there's no lift), so not very suitable for small children or older people. Brilliant views of the city though, and not very busy like these towers usually are. A must see on a visit to Toru!

Torun - a very nice town, with graceful old town, many beautiful houses and tasty gingerbread. The town hall is surrounded with so many intersting spots and corners that you could spend there a lot of time.

Disappointing that the museum co-located in the Town Hall was not open when we were there, but the tour and history of the Ratusz itself was enjoyable. There is an option to climb the tower for a birds-eye view of old Torun.

We went around the art gallery of Polish paintings - some famous names here. Lovely! Labels are in English as well as in Polish. Hardly any other visitors despite the teeming hundreds in the town square outside. Museum staff were really attentive. We didn't have time to look at the Gothic gallery - maybe next time.

Unlike some of these Medieval towers, this one is quite easy to climb. Lots of landings to rest at before going higher. Note that they charge you to take photos inside. You could take them when they're not looking- I've heard that some people have done that :) Anyway, once you get to the top, the view is outstanding. You... More

People complain but it is only 187 steps to the top and from there you have a fantastic view of the old town and beyond. The old town in Torun is small so by climbing the tower you can appreciate the varied architecture.

Great views up the too, but be warned, there are lots of stairs, some more rickety than others. Take a camera with you and be prepared to take some gorgeous photos.
