Durign my visit the island there was a holiday event celebartion there so I had an opportunity to visit the place of Poland christianity and church during that holiday. Recommend to visit.

Where Poznan & Polish christianity began. Cathedral sumptuous. Easy to get to by tram from centre. Worth looking at old bridges at each end of island.

This island contains the Cathedral and other historic buildings which are the earliest parts of the city. Museums, the views, the Jordan bridge, the Porta Posnania are part of its attractions, it is never too overcrowded and the nearby area of Srodka is being restored and is up and coming, with a very nice new hotel and cafes opening. If you are interested in visiting poznań city, go there. A lot about history, showing the most important places. For me it is nice to visit, but not must see

Very attractive, the whole thing remarkably similar to Ostrow Tumski in Wroclaw! I would have appreciated a cafe or bar nearby.

Very nice area for walking and relaxing. Not so many tourist. You can visit a cathedral here. It's quiet and calm area. If you're tired of the market square and want to see something else, go there and you will not regret.

Not much to see inside, but beautiful area to just walk about. We took a free walking tour first and then went back to see it again on our own.

I have almost forgot about this area. Actually this place I mention the most with great feelings. Here there are not so many people and you can feel the history of Poznan, of Poland. In the Cathedral you can find the remains of first kings and rulers of Poland. You can also go down to the crypt and watch a... More

It is quite peaceful and well worth the time for a visit. You can actually get a map for this area from the Brama Poznania museum they have them outside in the information tents and inside the museum itself. The map will help you with all the sites. Couple museums in this small area and also a couple cafes. Easy... More
