Wroclaw cathedral is one of the best valuable monuments of the city. Its formation is associated with the thousandth jubilee year, Congress of Gniezno and the foundation of the bishopric in Wroclaw. It was built on Cathedral Island, and its patron is St. John the Baptist. Great monumental Gothic building that deserves to be called the most valuable city building.

the cathedral is ok, nothing fancy, but the view from the tower! really worth climbing few stairs and waiting for an elevator.

A lovely part of town, so peaceful, clean and colourful. There is a viewing balcony up one of the spires and a lift to get you up there (5zl) but there are still about a hundred or so steps to get up the lift level, via a spiral stair. Worth the effort though as the view is fantastic. The cathedral... More

Worth the time to walk through and see this wonderfully restored cathedral. Unfortunately for us they were not allowing people to go up the tower that day.

This has to be on your list of things to visit in Wroclaw. The location and setting of the Catherdral is special, day or night, and one of the nicest places in the City. The building is beautiful, inside and out, but the best part is the trip you can take (for a few Zloty = about 1 euro) to... More

It took 46 years from the end of World War II to complete the restoration of the Cathderal. The fact that the people of this fine city did it against the backdrop of communist repression is a testament to their spirit. As Cathedrals go, it's quite small. However their is a splendid air of piety, tranquility as well as dignity... More

This is a great cathedral. Lovely. Unfortunately, there were children begging, both inside and out. Keep your eye on your wallet. Some nuns told them to take off, but I suspect the children are regulars there.

Quite impressive, especially if you haven't seen many churches like this before (I still prefer Mariacki in Cracow though, sorry :P). You can take some awesome photos standing by it, but also from the other side of river (river + this church make one of the best views in Wroclaw, a definite must-see, I love it myself)
