Boats go from near cathedral island. You can do a round trip or do as we did and get off at the zoo and come back later on another boat. Some are paddle steamers. Lovely views of Cathedral Island and other buildings downstream.

I couldn't comment on the River were it flowing, but in a 'Frigid' state it was fascinating, we spent hours walking around the whole of the city to see as much of this fascinating spectacle as we could, it was equally interesting to see how the locals used it for their own amusement.

Wroclaw is often thought of as a kind of venice with it's numerous islands and the river is a major feature of this emerging Polish Gem. Stand on one of the numerous bridges and wait for your lover or imagine yourself in a cold war spy film.

Its only a short walk from the old town square,200/300 meters to the banks of the river, never been in the summer months,good paths,with wheelchair access,over the bridges.. looks like there is a good bar scene in the summer months,but only walked around over the winter....
