We took the vehicular railway both ways which was quick and efficient once on it but queue was ridiculous. No organisation. Everyone trying to walk up were hanging on to the fence and trying to pull themselves up ! Didn't look much fun on their faces. Had ty skied beer and chips at top in double deck chair overlooking gorgeous... More

You can reach it by simply walking or by taking a tram [aprox 20 PLN one way]. Well, it's definitely worth doing by walking. View on the top is just perfect! There's plenty useless souvenirs you can buy over there. Be aware of the fact that restaurants and bars are a bit more expensive here. You can also do horse... More

Recently visited this resort. Went up funicular to top of mountain. After a lovely lunch in one of the restaurants we left to go on a walk. I was attracted by some guy playing a magic trick. DON'T GO NEAR THEM! They robbed us of £250 (zloty and pounds) Unknown to us they were working in a gang (women and... More

This is a must see when in Zakopane. It's worth walking rather than taking the cable car in my opinion, spectacular views from the top and some nice little places to eat and drink. I'd definitely recommend going in both winter and summer as it's completely different in both seasons!

You should go to the top of Gubalowka just to take a photo with your children with the dogs and fake bear.. plus walk some 40 minutes up to the top of Szymoskowa mountain and be back with chair lifts. But remember to use snow clothes even if it is warm in the city it is very cold upwards..

The ride up on the Funicular railway is well worth doing. Snowing made it a real treat. Many wooden buildings at the top and plenty of opportunity for food and drink. Spent a couple of hours up here. Lots of skiers and snowboarders. Great value.

Beware of the hawkers selling all sorts of tat, pity they don't ban them, they spoil the views! The funicular ride is very fast, and good if you've never been on one before, the views on a clear day are amazing!

Beautiful view on the vallee, with the mountains in the third plan. I really recommend at least spending two hours walking across the road and enjoying the view. There are some good restaurants close to the funicular. I recommend the Gospoda pod niebem. Delicious and good service!

Gubalowka is quite popular among locals in Krakow & most of my friends insisted me on visiting Zakopane & take a walk down the Krupowki Street. Gubalowka houses tons of restaurants; Adventure Enthusiasts can enjoy artificial rock climbing, cable car ride, you can buy wooden artifacts & tons of memorabilia I brought back fond memories of exhilarating funicular ride to... Just take the funicular to get a great view of the town and the Polish Tatras. Walk around and take in the air and feel the power and exitement of Zakopane.
