If you walk to the top it makes for a beautiful trip, however taking the tram to the top is a waste of money. The view of Zakopane is really beautiful, but otherwise, there are just a million booths seeking the same thing and it really smells like horse pee. Buy a poncho as rain can come from nowhere. It... This was chosen as an alternative to the cable car as it wasn't working and as we had not really researched this we were unsure what it would entail. Well what a great surprise. The sun beat down as we entered the funicular train to take us up the mountain and when we got off at the top the views... More

This is just a short ride or hike ( for those who are fit ). It offers some spectacular views of Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains. There are heaps of souvenir market stalls, horse riding and restaurants. A must see...

just almost in the center of Zakopane, there is a station of funicular that will take you t the hill top. This is ca. 1000 m , and while enjoying the ride ( ca 5 min, more less) , you will see people walking up or down. While being on the top , make sure that you stop by look... More

Unfortunately a thick fog prevented us from enjoying the views. Most stalls and bars were closed so there wasn't much to do. At least, the funicular ticket was cheap. Only worth the trip if the weather permits it.

Basicly tourist location with a lot of souvenirs and bars, but still very cheap and fun to grab a bite and drink a beer . the view is great. you can get by car for free or take the cable car from the heart of Zakopane

Had to go up as everyone does it, and like most others I'm sure you will go up as its the thing to do. Basic run of the mill stalls and drinking holes, with some ok views (but with a annoying bungee jump crane in the way now). Think we went in quiet season so perhaps slightly unfair and food... More

The Tatra mountains are beautiful and rugged and had a nice coating of snow on the peaks when we visited (mid-May). We took the funicular to the top - easy and quick (13 PLN). There is also an option to walk to the top (free). We had a beautiful sunny day which is a must. The only reason to come... More

We took the funicular trip up to Gubalowka mountain. The views at the top of the Polish Tatras was incredible. It was snowing lightly and getting that bluish colour in the sky as it gets dark. It was something that needs to be witnessed. I felt like I was on another planet.
