simply worth visiting, still no money around, but improving, the museum of pipes and bells, hills around the town, old town ( unfortunately the cafes still rather of poor quality with too little shops, and services, but generally really great town!

I've started going to Przemysyl on a yearly basis to stay with my girlfriends parents and it really is superb. I must admit I didn't know what to expect initially but it doesn't disappoint. The historic buildings remind me of Vienna or Prague and the similarity to Krakow is uncanny, only it's not full of tourists and gift shops! The... More

In the days of the Commune it was 3 hours plus on a train from Krakow. Capitalism means that it now takes nearly 5 hours. When you get there the city centre is great. Lots of places to visit. Typically Polish in that there are lots of Churches but their architecture is far from plain. There is now a pleasant... More

Many venues to visit within this city, walking may be difficult in some areas because of the steepness of the streets. A castle sits atop the high ground of the city and offers a splendid view of the surrounding area. Many shops and restaurants with very friendly staff. Numerous ATMs, banks, and exchanges are located throughout the city. Main park... More

Very enjoyable walk, well signposted with both maps and markings along the way. Local guidebooks/leaflets in English refer to the same walking route, which is useful. The walk goes around the town but also up the hill and into local parks. Lots to see along the way.

Przemysl is a Historical gem. The Railway station is well worth a visit as it has just been restored to it's former glory. For those with an interest in Military history the area was the starting point for the invasion of Russia in World War 2. Well worth a visit

You get here great historic medieval athmosphere and get chance to visit many different (architecture and denomination) churches, from which in practise all are worth visiting. And there is statue of "The Good Soldier Švejk" (Schweik) here, if you are fond of this literally person.

Being located on a hill slope the old Przemysl is a bit reminiscent of Prague with its picturesque towers and churches gently drifting down. Smaller than most of the more known cities of Poland it beats most of theme in terms of antiquity, historical atmosphere and sincerity. For some it even wins over the mighty Krakow. The market square, the... More
