We caught the 134 bus to the zoo. Our first use of public transport in Krakow and the ticket machine is coin only. We worked it out for the return trip. The zoo is in the middle of the forest and the stop before the zoo had many bush walkers get off. Looks like some lovely walks are nearby. The... More

Location! The zoo is in the centre of and old forest, true escape from the bustling city. Nearby you've got other attractions: The Piłsudski Mound (with an imposing view over all of Krakow and sometimes even the Tatra Mountains in the south) and many fine walking trails. As far as the zoo goes: it is not enormously big but will... More

I visited the Zoo a few years back (not in March 2013 as stated, but could not select the appropriate date) and enjoyed it a lot. The park is settled in a forest, enhancing the feeling of nature. Some great animals are held in huge enclosures, reducing the impression of observing emprisonned creatures. Some very rare ones are showcased in... More

There is almost every spiece of animals. Really large zoo. You have the choice to walk around by a small train. Not expensive entrance.

We loved out visit to the Krakow Zoo, and it was really cheap. The animals enclosures are on the small side (especially the big cats, which were almost cruelly small and overcrowded in some cases) however, this meant you got to see them incredibly close up. And the animals looked well cared for. A very quiet zoo (we only saw... More

The problem with zoos tends to be that the cages are too small, and communal animals are kept separate. Krakow zoo overcomes most of these hurdles, but the big cats, particularly leopards etc, could benefit from larger enclosures with more space between them. The wolves however are kept perfectly, in pairs and in a large open lair. The petting zoo... More

We had an excellent 3 hours at the zoo, we saw everything & more. Back in Scotland Edinburgh Zoo is so rubbish at least in krakow you see the animals, if they are inside sleeping they have an area that you can view them inside brilliant!! Also that the pink flamingoes are just there in front off you with a... More

We just visited Krakow Zoo! What a fantastic little gem, tucked away outside Krakow. We've been to many zoos in Poland and this was one of the nicest. Clean grounds and enclosures. Most of the animals looked happy and contempt. We will be visiting once again when the giraffe enclosure is finished. Car park is a rip off at 15zl........ More

This is a small zoo which gives you plenty of chances to go back around again and again which is great especially if an animal was not out when you first passed it's enclosure. There is a cafe outside the zoo and smoking is not allowed in the zoo so you can go out as often as you like and... More
