This is a fascinating place to visit. What was discovered when the excavations were carried out is amazing. Shoes, small pins, tokens, the inevitable lost pieces of jewellery. The glass walkways can be a bit discombobulating, especially when you look down and realise there's a skeleton under your feet! There are a serious of interesting films about historic Krakow; I... An incredibly well done new museum situated below the main square showing the levels of development over a millennium. Allow a couple of hours. Several films at the end of the tour might be better as an introduction.

excavated underground museum dating inhabitants of Krakow back to the 1200's and earlier. Well displayed and easy navigation. Well worth the ticket price!

I had heard this relatively new exhibit was a must and I'm glad we went. Very interesting to see the historical journey and of Krakow in the middle ages. Lots of interactive displays, which are multilingual, but you could be stuck waiting to view in the language of your choice. My favourite part was the second phase of the exhibit,... More

Great use of modern technology to to display history. This is a high quality museum. Very different slice of history that helped me understand a little more the depth of history of Krakow. It will not be for everyone. It is the archeological dig under the Markt Square. It is dim, there is more than enough English translation, it requires... More

We did visit on the day before we flew back to the UK and thoroughly enjoyed it, it told of how the square was from the 11th Century to the present day.

A museum with a difference. A walk in the past. The dim lighting, the background noises all added to the atmosphere giving a great feeling of what it must have been like in centuries past. Near the end of your journey there are little rooms off through brick archways showing video clips which last about 10 minutes each. The commentaries... More

The interior of the Museum is dimly lit; signages are difficult to read in the dark. There was no map provided, in order to follow the numbered exhibits. Exhibits were scattered haphazardly throughout the Museum. This Museum sorely needs better organization.

I was truly fascinated. The museum is like no other - it meets the expectation of 1-100 years old. I think I would go to Krakow again with friends and family, just to show tchem the museum.
