Legend tells us that Neptune angry at people who throw coins into the fountain , struck with great force trident in water and smashed monets into tiny gold flakes , which are immersed in the herbal liqueur Goldwasser .

Brilliant landmark absolutely exquisite. It was also used as a useful meeting point in the centre of the old town as well.

The Neptune fountain is located to the Fountain of Four River and will always be compared. The statues of Neptune surrounded by sea nymphs are an interest point but not up to the grandeur of its neighbour.

Looks lovely lit up at night and is a good meeting point/start of walking tour point for the town. It was completely overshadowed by a massive christmas tree in the square though which should and could have been moved down a hundred or so yards instead of right next to the fountain

Originally I thought, well, a fountain. Nothing to be excited about. It is pretty stunning though and it blends in beautifully with the whole atmosphere of the Old Town.

Depending on the angle from which you approach this classic statue, you can form a nicely composed photograph with different coloured buildings in the background, and of course show a slightly different angle of Neptune. The surrounding area of restored buildings is magnificent, Gdansk has a lovely old town centre!

This was fun, this is the place in Gdansk where you take the photos on you weddingday. We saw many weddingparties in so many different ways. The blushing young bride in a long white dress, the very clinging dress, A treat extra

Since it is located in the middle of the old town, most tourists will find the fountain anyway. Not much there, but it is a landmark of the old city. It definitely doesn't look as nice as it could because of all the construction in the surrounding area. Stop by, take some photos and ten get back to checking out... More
