A must visit if you have time in Poland

Stayed there for two nights. Walked around Old Town and took a guided tour of tri-city. Found the city fascinating even-though it was rebuilt after World War II.

I was blown away. No way I expected to see the wonderful house facades in this town. Each façade more elaborate than the previous one. Like an outdoor art museum.

Truly, whether you visit the old town in winter or summer, it doesn't matter. It can be quite crowded with tourists when the weather is good, but they are there for a good reason. It's simply a beautiful town.

Worth it! Amazing how this city recovered after WWII. We ate in a small restaurant with our tour guide and enjoyed "real" Polish food.

Beautifully restored after being completely destroyed during World War II. Nice place to take a stroll, buy some art work or have a drink and something to eat. If you are in Warsaw in August you must go to hear Jazz in the Square on a Saturday evening.

one of the main tourist places in Gdansk, simply have to visit and you will if you head to the centre of the city. Again, prices are slightly higher here due to the tourist nature however, compared to the UK it is still far cheaper. The buildings are beautiful and it's easy to sit all day with a cold beer... If you can stay in the centre. Old town has been pretty much rebuilt from the ground up in the classic style. This is one large Amber market with a shop every couple of feet. If you can't find what you are looking for in Amber here then you never will. There are plenty of cafes & restaurants as well.... More

Gdansk old town is charming and has unique look. If comparing Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Bratislava and some other old towns which I have experience, Gdansk is different. Narrow and tall houses, build attached each other and really decorated facades give quite narrow and straight streets unique look. Riverside promenade with several gates to the old town is beautiful and old... More

Try to go last week July or first two weeks in August when the International Fair is on. Excellent street market with over 3,000 stalls selling everything you can think of. Remember that mostly only cash for stalls but some ATM's accept cards. Fabulous restaurants and don't forget to try the soup in the bread crust basket and the pierogi

Gdansk is a really beautiful city, great old town, many shops restaurants BUT it's very poorly adapted to the needs of peoples with disabilities. The Ferris wheel which is built in 2014 is absolutely not adapted for disabled people, there is a sign which says there is a ramp for disabled people using a wheelchair BUT the ramp is only for baby strollers....Why...
