Walking along the canal is gorgeous where you will find shops and restaurants. Walking through the old city gates you will find the many restaurants and amber shops but you must get... More

The 'Long Street' had lots of beautiful amber shops, with helpful assistants. We went into perhaps six shops and all were equally pleasant. Always check to ensure the business has a certificate of authenticity for the amber - don't be fooled by the imitations in the markets on the side alleys. Be careful with parking also. There are many car... More

It is another beautiful Polish city, well kept, clean and tidy with nice looking buildings. There are all the usual tourist shops and loads of great food places. If like me you love the Polish cuisine then you will enjoy a visit here.

We came for Xmas market and we weren't disappointed.. The old town was lovely. Lots of shops bars and restaurants...cobbled streets and beautiful ornate buildings.. Gdansk offers a diverse experience and one I'm glad to have been able to appreciate..

December is not the best time of the year to visit Gdansk, but the beautiful restored buildings are just as impressive in December as any other month of the year, and there are not too many other tourists so one can really admire the buildings without any disturbance.

Like most old parts of any city it's the architecture that is the star. Lovely buildings, some very quirky. Plenty of places to stop off at for a refreshment break or some food. It is surprisingly quiet and that just adds to it's charm.

I loved the old buildings and architecture! The Old Town is quite big so you can have a longer walk and enjoy your time.

There was just nothing there! We walked arounf for over one hour, and finaly went into tourist info to ask where the people and shops and life was, but she looked me straight in the eyes and with a voice like ice cold water said "this is it".
