A truly interesting city centre and waterside walks all within flat walking distance. Museums and history aplenty and, of course the ubiquitous amber in many shapes and sizes.

The part of Gdańsk called the Old city has a nice atmosphere and is absolutely worth a visit if you are in the area. Use some hours and stroll in the narrow streets of the Old city. In this area you can especially enjoy shopping polish glass art and jewelry.

Completely rebuilt but maintaining the original facades. Great place to spend 2 hours walking along the town n canal. Plenty of cafes n friendly people. Not to miss in Gdansk.

Bring your camera and enjoy. Amazingly well done and coordinated restoration after WW2. Lots to see and this ranks with all top tourist destinations I've seen.

Did not know what to expect on this first visit to Poland and was totally blown away by the beautiful sights and photographic opportunities. However it was the atmosphere and the friendliness of the local people in the old town that I shall remember. The rebuilding of the area after the devastation of WW2 is remarkable and the buildings with... More

We visited on a beautiful summer day when the old town was really, really crowded but it did not take away from our enjoyment of learning about the history and rebuilding of the town. There is so much to see and we enjoyed wandering down the side streets and along the waterfront. There are many interesting shops, lovely restaurants and... More

I thought my city was nice, but the old town in Gdansk is something of it´s own. So so so much to see and you will be amazed by all the different architecture! Look up !

We only managed a few hours in Gdansk on a guided tour from a cruise. The Old Town is something special and we did see all the major sights. It was my first visit to anywhere in Poland and Iwas impressed. The architecture is varied and interesting especially in Long Markt. I wanted to make sure that I had a... More

What a beauty! Take time and have a look at the beautful facades of the houses in the Old Town. Absolutely amazing and you really breeze the charme of the old Hanse days
