Difficult to find but brilliant when you got there. If you have any interest in modern world history then this is a must on your itinerary. It would be easy to spend hours here. There was also an excellent exhibition of 45 objects from World War Two on display in May 2015.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Could spend a whole day here. A reminder as to how awful the old communist regime was.

This centre uses multi media and a selection of artifacts - such as a sample electric truck that Lech Walesa used to maintain - to tell the story of the Solidarity movement, its genesis, rise , suppression and final vindication with the collapse of what is termed the "Russian occupation". It is on the site of the now defunct Lenin... More

This museum is telling the visitor of a very important time in the Polish history - when the Polish people in a peaceful way took back their freedom. The museum is using modern technique to give us the possibility to go into details or have an overview in the Solidarity history. The museum have managed to do this in a... More

Knowing only the basics about the Polish impact on the fall of communism this museum informed us on this and much more. Excellent use of modern technology (the kids loved the touch screen tables), with a very well thought out and presented flow. The WW2 artefact exhibition was a real bonus. Highly recommended visit and worth spending quite a bit... More

In my opinion this alone would be worth visiting Gdansk for! I arrived with fairly minimal knowledge of the history of the eastern bloc and I left with a desire to learn more, and of course a burning fire of inspiration in my belly to start a revolution! I spent four hours in the museum but I only saw the... More

a must! not much more to say. We went with small children & it was worth showing it to them. It was interactive & even if you're not big on history - you'd get what it was all about

A must see for any trip to Gdansk . Located in a purpose built modern building adjacent to the docks . Loads of historical documents and films . Well presented although sometimes difficult to find where to go next using the hand held recorder.
