The main square of Telc is pretty amazing, with the elaborate baroque facades of most of the houses being varied only by the occasional even older renaissance sgraffiti and the original gothic vaults within many of the houses. There were market stalls at one end and a pleasant restaurant overlooking the whole square at the other. Tourist Information give out... More

The center is a really nice place - feels completely out of time. The view from the lookout-tower seems to take this feeling even further, and makes me feel as if this town is out of the real world, too, surrounded by hills. I personally prefer towns with a bit more life to them - I mean nothing extravagant, nothing... More

In a country of real beauty, Telc was made a heritage site in 1992 - very early in the republic's history post communism and the square is really beautiful. It's architecture is a great example of the pastel shaded plaster facades of Bohemia. We didn't go into the castle but there is a museum focused on telc there. Worth a... More

Lovely historic town centre with a large boating lake, church, old town watch tower, museum and historic UNESCO buildings. The town square is like something from a Hansel and Gretal story with plenty of tourist shops, Market stalls, coffe bars, restaurants, tea shops, food outlets and entertainment. Well worth a day out.

If you are in the area, drive by and spend a few hours in this beautiful historic town protected by UNESCO. The town square was perfectly charming and the lake and park surrounding the castle was very beautiful and romantic.

Rolling boat on the lake is very very cheap. It only costs 50 czk pre hour. Toilet in the bus station is free. It is unusual.

Lovely town, wonderful castle and park. The historic centre is a trip to the past, with the colored old buildings, large square and nice shops.

You can almost smell the good old times in here. Whole center is repaired and each house on the square has its history, in some of them there are shop, museums, exhibitions or pensions. Whole center is surrounded by water moat and you can rent a boat and do a romantic swin around. TOP

Well, time really does stop there. Been in Telč for a week on business and it felt like a month. The city centre is beautifully preserved; it's a pity, though, that there is so little for tourists to do - once you've traversed the historical city centre, that's pretty much it. The castle at the end of the city centre... More

I am pretty sure once you are in Telc, you would love to stay longer. I do not say forever, but definitely longer. The location is so seductive, medieval houses on the square and the chateau breathe out history. One of my favourite artist - ZRZAVY - is connected with this place.
