I really liked this place.

We thought this was a marvelous palace. The family's connection to Beethoven was fascinating. The audio guide was excellent.

This is what you expect a palace to look like. It was without a doubt one of the most interesting and beautiful places in Prague. The audio tour was easy to follow and made the history come alive. We had a wonderful lunch and an fantastic concert by a string trio. A great day.

It is huge palace. Thats it!! We can go at length speaking about its architecture and artwork done in place. I am still amateur, still learning what art meant to Europeans. Even if you have little knowledge, you would not stop admiring the beauty :)

This Palace is located almost at the end of the Prague Castle area/grounds. It is the private art collection and furnishings of the Lobkowicz family - you get audio provided as part of the ticket - ticket can be bought on line in advance but it certainly wasn't busy and no real difference in price. As a lot of the... More

This was without question, a major highlight during our recent trip to Prague. A very genuine," from the heart" audio tour given by William Lobkowicz as well as his wife ,father and mother about the beautiful contents of the collection that includes original manuscripts of such composers as Mozart and Beethoven , magnificent art works and ceramics. This is a... More

OK, I admit : I'm Flemish. Perhaps that influences my judgment. I liked the whole museum and the story (stories) behind it. I enjoyed seeing the manuscript of Beethoven's Fifth symphony (among others). But ... The Green Michelin Guides use the expression : "Vaut le voyage" (worth while the travel). Peter Brueghel the Elder's "The Haymaking" on its own "vaut... More

Went to this palace by chance,as the castle had too many tourists around, and a long queue to get in.Very interesting family home over the centuries. Audio was included in the price of the ticket. Also lovely little cafe with very good food and reasonably priced.

Incredible family history, amazing art, military armor, and a music collection featuring original scores by Beethoven and more. You'll feel extremely emotional walking through some of the rooms of the palace as you learn and see some of the great history of Prague and through such an important family in the history of the city. Often shadowed by the Prague... More

The palace is not like your usual palace. It's not massive. I did enjoy the history side of it though.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
