We wandered up to the Prague Castle and explored its treasures but somehow "missed" the entrance to the Lobkowicz Palace. Determined to enjoy this marvel, we returned to the Hradcany (Castle) district via the Wallenstein Palace/Gardens and it was certainly worth the effort. Unbelievable story (worthy of a Hollywood movie !) and a beautiful, fascinating chateau and museum. The personal... More

We were very lucky to have dinner here one evening...it was part of our tour and a highlight of our stay. The owner's wife spoke to our group over dessert and coffee about the history of the castle and how it once again became part of her husband's family. Another highlight of our visit was to view their art collection,... More

This tour was an optional excursion of our Viking River Cruise. and what fun! Lunch and a private concert before the tour. Who know the Lobkowicz family was a patron of both Mozart and Beethoven? The audio guide is narrated by a family member who lives in the United States, so was completely understandable. The collection of old musical instruments... More

Lobkowicz Palace is a beautiful chateau style building. It's worth a visit to check out the architecture inside and they host some great concerts in the building. We've visited twice and heard concerts both times.

A truly exquisite collection of paintings, weapons, pottery, musical instruments and more, portraying the remrakable story of the Lobkowicz dynasty, intertwined with the history of Prague, Bohemia and Europe. The audio guide is probably the best I have ever encountered. And there is a good coffee shop for a nice lunch after the tour. Whatever you do in Pargue, make... More

Fabulous, breathtaking and the Lobkowicz family is amazing! Had a private Tauck tour dinner here and it was fantastic! Great music, beautifully, well-kept surroundings. Don't miss this experience if in Prague!

Twice stolen from the Lobkovich family and twice recovered. Only palace still privately owned. Has the most to see of all the palaces we visited.

I did not enjoy this trip at all. The girl taking the money and giving tickets was not at all helpful and never smiled once. Tickets I thought overpriced, then you pay for video guide if required then they want an extremely large deposit of each person with a guide. Some families just turned away. Sorry but would not recommend.

The gardens are enough of a reason to visit this palace. the views are spectacular. Although there are many people here, you will still find a nice place to relax and soak in the atmosphere.

We visited a lunchtime concert at this palace and enjoyed beautiful pieces on violin, flute and piano. Not to be missed if you love music.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
