A wonderful experience for all! The museum experience is made especially personal, because members of the current Lobkowicz family narrate the audio guide. It is truly a beautiful palace and the room with the scores of the Beethoven symphonies and music instruments made a real impression! Recommended for all who visit Prague Castle.

Had a relaxing lunch on the terrace overlooking Prague. Was one of the highlights of our trip. We were exhausted after the Disney-like experience of touring the castle and cathedral with throngs of tourists. We just wanted a place to rest and have lunch and were surprised that we stumbled upon such a beautiful and elegant property. Prices were very... More

We went to the museum because everyone-- Michelin, Lonely Planet, and Trip Advisor recommends it. You pay a lot, get an audio self-guided tour about a man's quest to get back "his" inheritance (I question it) and money raised to restore portraits of his ancestors. It is revealing how a 9 year old girl was married to her old, ugly... More

cool. It is interesting to hop in while there. But I dont think it is one of the best things in Castle District, so go visit if you have time and interest.

There were a number of nooks to explore. The main feature, the cathedral was full of tourists, but you could fine a number of spots free of crowds to explore. Worth the time.

We decided to go after listening to Rick Steves' podcast interview with William Lobkowicz (available on Rick's Audio Europe app). The museum is the perfect size for feeling like you got what you paid for but still leaving wishing you could see more. Absolutely immaculately displayed collection and the included audio guide was great (moves you through the collection at... More

We really enjoyed this self guided tour. The family history was so interesting and the audio tour was excellent. Definitely worth going. We ate first in the little café in the courtyard.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
