The story of this family and its impact on art and culture is unbelievable. The palace and its priceless contents was lost to the Nazis and then the Soviets. Incredibly, the family has recovered them again. The collection includes original scores and manuscripts by Beethoven and Mozart, including Beethoven’s 4th and 5th symphonies and Mozart’s re-orchestration of Handel’s Messiah. The... More

The Lobkowicz Palace is found in the Prague Castle complex but isn't included in the general Palace ticket as it is a private museum, this seemed to deter people from visiting as we had the palace pretty much to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon. It is well worth paying the extra to visit this palace though as you get an... More

While in Prague a visit to the Lobkowicz Family Palace is to discover a most fascinating story about the loss and recovery of a family legacy linked directly to our modern day. You will see a fabulous collection of art and valuable possessions that are linked to the history of Europe since the 1600's. We attended a delightful chamber music... More

This is one of the best things we did in Prague! The castle is beautifully maintained, the collection is incredible and very diverse - including paintings, artifacts, silver, china, musical instruments and guns, to name a few! The story is quite remarkable and the audio tour is well-done. The admission price was reasonable for the amount that you got to... More

Our tour included a narrated castle tour, dinner overlooking the city of Prague and a concert featuring Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Dvorak. A pleasant surprise was a visit by the current prince and resident of the castle, William, during dinner. The castle and its 'contents were lost twice, once during the Nazi occupation and then again during the Soviet... More

We attended a wonderful classical music concert in the palace featuring a piano and viola which we loved. This was our favorite museum in Prague. The museum gives you free audio guide which is narrated by the Lobowitz family. It is so personal and so interesting that 3 hours flew by (and I am not a avid museum tourer). NOT... More

The audio tour did a good job of providing overview of the Lubkowicz family and their possessions. The Palace is located at the top of hill, so that you will get a nice view of the city.

During a walking tour break the café in the courtyard was recommended as a refreshment stop. We arrived, sat down and were ignored for 20 minutes. We left. The place was short staffed with 2 servers and a barrista trying to meet the needs of over 50 seats! The male staff were combative with the customers and all of them... More

Fabulous collection, also open Mondays when other galleries are closed. Must have lunch or dinner at the Lobkowicz Palace Cafe, upstairs for the best views over Prague. Sunset was beautiful!

This collection is truly amazing. One of the coolest things they have is original Beethoven and Mozart music compositions with hand written notes on them. The family that owns this palace had 13 palaces that were confiscated by the Nazis, they got them back and then they were confiscated by the Russians, then they got them back again. They have...
