It was very hidden, but got it :) The place is great, totally different from all the pubs in Prague! From the moment ur glass of beer is empty, u get an other one without ordering it ( so very easily u could get drunk :) )! The food was pubish ;) The pork stake with potatoes around was looking... Visited one evening, place was full, managed to find a seat sharing a table with locals who were very friendly. Every time your glass was close to empty along came the waiter with a full one Not one for a family trip, but also not one to miss

Extremely cozy place where you get some of the best beer ever. Quite complicated to find the place. Make sure you get the right pronounce in order to ask to the locals :)

Loved it. If only they had U Zlateho Tygra's for real ale in the UK at £1 a pint!!!! We came here on the back of a guide book recommendation and obviously we were green. No seats free. Not much idea what to do. So I thought "sod it" and I asked the man pulling pints for 2 beers, which... More

Great place to meets locals and other tourists always busy but top notch service from the staff. Proper drinking establishment for those who enjoy a proper session on the ale and at prices so low compared to the UK. A most visit place if on a drinking tour of Prague!!!

Plzenska Pivnice u Zlateho Tygra is the best pub in Prague to sample Pilsner urquell pivo at its best in a no nonsense setting.Located in the neighborhood area of Prague called Stare Mesto (old town) this place is an institution in the Prague drinking scene.Always extremely busy no matter what time you come here you need an invitation by God... I was here for dinner and beer 2 years ago with a few friends, not all of whom are beer drinkers. Even though we arrived without a reservation, there was a semi-occupied table we could join, and, as other reviewers have mentioned, beer was placed on our table promptly thereafter. Most beer houses in my home town are just plain... More

My husband and I stopped in here one afternoon after seeing it on a travel show. We knew what to expect - you are served mugs of Pilsner Urquell, and they keep bringing you refills until you indicate that you are done (I put my coaster on my mug). The beer was cheap, and the atmosphere was as you would... More

Just tried to make a reservation and tried to ask when it is available in the coming two weeks. The only reply was "full for today" and after that, hanged up the phone suddenly. Also wrote an email with a reply saying "Your message to <info@uzlatehotygra.cz> was automatically rejected:Quota exceeded (mailbox for user is full)" They don't want to make... More

I had an amazing time here. You'll have the chance of meeting new people, either locals or travellers like yourself and you'll never run out of beer - the moment you finish your beer, the waiter will bring you a new cold beer without you asking for it. Also the beer is very cheap (40CZK for a pint) compared to... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
