Great free flowing beer and so cheap.. Get early as it closes at 11! Be prepared to chat with whoever you sit with. We ended up drinking with a couple we met until the early hours.

It was full, loud, smoky and really busy. We managed to get a table, sharing with others and we ordered a beer. The beer was really good, the atmosphere even better and we are so glad we found it as it doesn't look like anything from outside. If you want to have a large glass of Prague lager in an... More

They only speak Czech, they're not really friendly, and if you don't drink you're asked to leave so that someone else can have your chair. This doesn't matter one bit as it stil feels genuine Czech and the Pilsner Urquell they serve is divine. If you're on an expense account you will maybe have some trouble getting your receipt through... More

We had read about this place and tried on three different occasions to get in! Last time lucky we lined up with the locals just before 3 and got in as it opened! We ended up staying all afternoon and absolutely loved the place! There is a lot of smoke but you just have to deal with it!

Seriously loved this place. This was our first stop and glad it was. We wanted a little bit of the local flavor, a little bit of beer (or a lot?) and some tasty Czech grub. Needless to say I'm happy we read Logosus's review first (http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g274707-d607212-r214064077-At_the_Golden_Tiger_U_zlateho_tygra-Prague_Bohemia.html#REVIEWS) if you read this you will earn gold stars at the golden lion. I think we did everything right and were ok, but you really should not have to jump through hoops, follow guidelines or fit a criteria to stop someone taking delight in being rude to you, and they are rude to people coming in, and you can tell they enjoy it. We have driven 4000 miles through Europe and many countries,... More

you'll have a great time knocking back a few pints. We went there in 2005 on our last trip to Eastern Europe and had a great time. However when we went it was not known as a touristy place. Off the beaten path and there never used to be a door at the end of the alley way entrance. Years... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
