I am not a beer person. But I am not a snob either. Still, it was stuffy inside, stinky and a bit disgusting. Not my kind of place but obviously it is a landmark for Prague. I am sure beer drinkers would love it!

We were five siting in this pub at refectory tables. It was not hard to get a beer here. It comes in one size and one type. If you want food, it is more like snack food, i.e. sausages and the like. The beer guy when he brigs the beer also gives you a piece of paper on which he... More

We had a great time in this pub! We wandered in one night and found it packed. After 10 minutes or so we were able to grab a couple of seats at one of the long pine tavern tables. Within seconds, mugs of Pilsner Urquel 12% were placed before us. As far as I could tell, we were the only... More

Love this pub. Very old and traditional the beer is very good. Just find a seat (if you can) put a beer mat in front of you and in minutes a beer will appear, when your glass is near empty another will appear without evening asking. When your ready to leave just put the beer mat on top of your... More

I recommend you give it a try. We travel a lot and this is place I wouldn't want to miss. A lot of the negatives are true. It is crowded and loud. But the locals will tell it has the best beer--anywhere. And it is true. The waiters don't say much but they don't miss much either. I said to... More

We queued in for 15min and got ourselves seats. Got the beers, ordered local klobasas (sausages) and enjoyed the view and atmosphere. You cannot get this elsewhere in Prague. By the way, the beer IS excellent.

Love it or hate it. You will get there the best glass of Pilsner Urquell you can get (for the best price also). But the place plays its own game. It is a typical czech hospoda (or pub) with all its pros and cons. The service is rude but smooth and effective. Tygr is alway crowdy and you can meet... More

Great free flowing beer and so cheap.. Get early as it closes at 11! Be prepared to chat with whoever you sit with. We ended up drinking with a couple we met until the early hours.

It was full, loud, smoky and really busy. We managed to get a table, sharing with others and we ordered a beer. The beer was really good, the atmosphere even better and we are so glad we found it as it doesn't look like anything from outside. If you want to have a large glass of Prague lager in an... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
