A peaceful place to stop and meditate, as well as to contemplate or say prayers. Largely renovated complex is open to the public , including the beautiful park with ponds and a part of the monastery . In addition, you can taste beer from the monastery brewery or eat typical Czech food at restaurant Monastery šenk. The monastery is certainly... More

Large monastic complex and grounds that were virtually deserted at the time of our visit. The church itself was closed, but you could view the interior through a glass partition. The grounds are quite extensive and feature among other things, an orangery, water features, a small hotel, outbuildings and large lawns with fruit trees. There is also a fine cafe... More

Located a short tram ride outside the centre of Prague (get off at the břevnovský klášter stop). Whilst the Monastery itself is interesting to look around, I was there to eat and try the beer that had been recommended to me.The restaurant and brewery is located just inside the main courtyard of the Monastery on the right hand side as... Fed up with Karlův most and Staroměstská náměstí? Take the 22 tram out here....it's quiet, idyllic, you can stroll around in the gardens, take in the architecture: there's a little gallery (only open Thursdays and weekends) and a lovely little cafe/restaurant with it's own pivovar where you eat and drink exceptionally well for very little. Don't miss it!

Went on the advice of a local. Were too late to admire the scenery; went straight for the main event. Tasty and hearty meal of roast duck breast (a Czech specialty) with two kinds of cabbage and two kinds of bread dumplings (how many kinds can there be?! Lots, it turns out). Liver pate, mushroom soup, and baguette all also... More

Brevnov Monastery is really beautiful. There is not that much to see, it's the church and surrounding parcs. But there is as well a really good restaurant with local brewery beer. It is far from the center, however you can also have a walk in nearby Obora Hvezda parc. And from Strahov monastery it is just 5 tramstops away. Anyway... More

I went there as a beer geek and homebrewer to taste abbey beer. On their website it said it was open until 17:00 and they offered barrel-aged imperial stout. We were there around 16:00 and it was closed. You couldn`t buy any beer and in the `local` restaurant they served.... macrolagers plus only two beers from the abbey, which were... More

The Brevnov Monastery is quite far from city centre of Prague. However, there is no mass of tourists. You can enjoy a pleasant walk in its garden. If you love wildlife. Birds and squirrels can be found here. I even saw a woodpecker here (I'm not an Ornithologist. I don't know whether this is common in Czech or Europe. But... More

To previous orator can add that it's nice quite place - park for strolling and thinking and church which is more beautiful inside (pretty nice decorated ceiling with clock)! It's not outside Prague, but still tram line 22 (stop Brevnov Monastery) - I still live very close to this place))).

All the reviews in TA are about the Strahov Monastery! But trust me I live there! The Brevnov Monastery is something different! First of all, it´s adress is Marketska 28. You do get there by tram 22. , tramstop brevnov. It is a very old benedictine monastery partly restaurated with a beautifull barock church with painting by Brandl. The park... More
