I'm not a huge fan of modern art but thought there's be at least something decent here. There was not. Biggest waste of our time while in Prague, would have rather flushed the money down the toilet and had that hour of my life back.

This is a tiny museum, located on the bank of the river on Kampa island.
The museum features some modern art exhibits, but the exhibits outside the museum (the deformed babies statues and the penguins in particular) are far more interesting than the exhibits within the museum.
So basically, you can skip the actual museum and enjoy just the outdoor...

The staff recommended visiting the permanent collections upstairs as we only had about an hour before closing. Contemporary art, sculptures and a brilliant glass installation on the roof - we played with our reflections and took some of our best photos. Great views of Charles Bridge and the river too
Nice place to find out what you think about modern art. Do I really love it or perhaps do I not understand
An interesting building and layout with some great pieces. Actually was least impressed by the Kupka exhibition, which they seemed proudest of and guarded like bulldogs. Also liked the glass roof terrace where you could get a great view over Prague, Mala Strana, Petrin Hill and the castle in particular.
A wonderful, non-profit modern art museum with a fascinating collection of protest art. It reflects Czech culture and has marvelous views from the windows and the rooftop. Well worth the price and a must see.
We visited the gallery almost by mistake. We were very glad we did. It is a charming place with a great deal of interesting artwork. We particularly enjoyed the works of Kupka. The building itself is delightful as are the views of the Vltava and the Charles Bridge from the outside terrace. I thought it was quite expensive initially but...

This is definitely one of my favorite art museums ever!
I have had very hit and miss experiences with modern art. Abstract especially. I've been to a few in Barcelona, for instance, that I thought were pretty bad and disappointing.
This museum, I'm glad to say, did not disappoint! There is a courtyard type place outside that has several pieces...

This is a small museum, focused on contemporary art mostly by Czech artists. When we were there they had a very good retrospective of works by Frantisek Kupka, one of the earliest abstract artists. Unfortunately we had a bad experience here - in 2 weeks in eastern Europe, this was the one time people were rude to us. The museum...

The visit to the Kampa Museum is a must for those that want to know about the work of Czech and other Eastern Europe artists. Works by Michal Gabriel, Eva Kmentova, Kurt Gebauer, Mica Popovic, Olbram Zoubeck, Karel Nepras, Miro Vuco, Ales Vesely, Milan Dobes and David Cerny, among many others. Plus an astonishing collection of around 300 works by...
