I am a music lover, and I go in almost every city to a concert or opera. So Rusalka was a must see for me. The house itself is beautiful piece of architecture – but right now is in renovation, so you can’t enjoy the whole beauty of it. The interior is fabulous and it reminded me of the old... More

I attended five operas while I was in Prague at these venues: National Theater, State Opera, and Estates Theater. National Theater is superior. I did not go for the building. I went for the music in all three buildings. The seat was 1/6 the cost of what I paid at the Zurich Opera House one week before. I returned to... More

Having attended an opera at the State Opera House the evening before, we attended a production of Swan Lake at The National Theatre the following evening. The interior of the National Theatre is less ornate, but no less spectacular and the bar area far more attractive with its art nouveau décor. View from our box was limited (as it had... More

Bought tickets for the opera at the last minute (opera is in Czech, of course, but had subtitles & if you buy a program for approximately 40 CZK the info is in English too, including the synopsis). It was my teen sons first opera & he really liked it. We didn't dress up (as a matter of a fact my... More

you have to visit this and preferably book a performance. You feel like beeing part of a "Sissi and Franz Josef" movie. would have been wonderful if people would follow a dresss code and not participate in jeans

We saw exciting performances of Smetana's The Bartered Bride, and Bizet's Carmen during our recent visit to Prague. What impressed us most was the ability to see and hear from even the worst seats, which we had for The Bartered Bride. The theater is beautiful and intimate. We were in the upper gallery on the side. It was cramped and... More

This theater is the home of so many world premiers (including Mozarts Figaros wedding and Don Giovanni) but apart from that the building is so beautiful inside that you need to come ahead of time to be able to enjoy everything before your focus goes to the stage. Only negative is the chairs, as in most theaters the seat is... More

Went to see Swan Lake on Friday evening and had a fabulous time. I booked tickets through a Czech site and they only cost 6.90euro each! Absolutely brilliant value. Seats were high up but view was good. The building itself is beautiful and I really felt a sense of occasion being there. Definitely something to put on your list of... More
