We stumbled upon the National Theatre, when looking for something to eat. The building is truly magnificent, but is not seen to advantage as the other streets have encroached and blocked the long distance views.

We were fortunate enough to order tickets several months ahead of time for a ballet during our four day stay in Prague. I was pleasantly surprised by the various levels of prices available.
The National Theater is really a beautiful venue in which to see a production. The view along the river either before the show or during intermission is...

Went to see a concert there and we were not disappointed. It was not a 'tourist' event, but done by a real working orchestra. Quality of play was good and we generally enjoyed the selection - lasted more than 2 hours so be prepared. The Smentana hall is very nice. There were no refreshments during the very short intermission.

Just to be there is wonderfull. The subtitles in English is very thoughfull. The building itself is something of fairytales.
