I went to see Don Giovanni there. The place itself looks fabulous, from the outside and inside, a very traditional theater, magnificient fresco, but the performance wasn't so great (I'm used to Latin people singing Latin languages and the mood of the performers wasn't exactly what I expected) and it is absolutely not worth at all going there if you... I'm still awestruck about the fact that I got to see Don Giovanni in the theatre where Mozart first premiered it and conducted it! We lucked out and it was playing the first performance of the series the day after my birthday, so we splurged and bought box seats. We were in Balcony II, Box 11 (right in the center),... More

We walked passed this majestic building last weekend and could not stop staring at how tall and beautiful it was. The columns reminded us of some of the architecture we saw in Rome with the nice tall columns. totally worth stopping by even if only for a few pictures!

My wife and me attended a performance of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. We had box 16 which is the 3rd one from the front right side watching towards the stage. The view was unobstructed and acoustic was good. It was a quality performance. We were fortunate enough to attend a performance with a full orchestra (about 30 musicians). They offer 2... More

One thing Prague is not short of is fine architecture, this is by far not out of that remit, It stands at the head of a cobbled street impressively like a queen upon her throne. Was out for a walk and was quite taken in by it, it was at night too, and I had had a couple of pints... More

If your a arts person/theater goer, Prague is for you. One of the classic theaters in Prague, Theater of the Estates (Stavovské Divadlo) is close to Vaclavské Náměstí, so Můstek is probably your best metro option. Beautiful theater, great productions. Nice from the outside, extravagant from the inside. In a good way. One of the great things about this, like... More

One of the reasons we chose to visit Prague was because we wanted to see Mozarts wonderful opera The Magic Flute. Enchanting and unique this performance did not disappoint and is the best we have ever seen. The music and singing was divine and the performance was funny and moving and left us on a high wanting more. The Estates... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
