Beautiful opera house/theater. We went to see Don Giovanni, and it was superb! The orchestra was great and the lead soprano was wonderful! I will caveat this review by saying that this was my first live opera!

If in Prague and in the mood for Mozart, then go to Estates´ Theater! A small and cosy theater with quality performances.

We attended a performance of Mozart’s Don Giovanni given by the Prague National Theater Opera Company at the Estates Theater in Prague, the same venue where Mozart conducted the 1787 premiere of Don Giovanni. In fact, the Estates Theater is the only opera house still standing where Mozart was the maestro. The Prague National Theater Opera Company performs only at... More

I would really recommend it to those who LOVE the opera or just opera in general. Otherwise, I don't think it's worth the money. I love music and I love musicals, but I was unfortunately pretty bored.. I watched Phantom of the Opera in London right before this though, so I guess that spoiled my appetite. I didn't think the... Beautiful theater where Mozart first performed Don Giovanni. There is a reenactment of the debut during July and August.

There are a lot of 'dubious' entertainment choices in Prague that are really just tourist traps but this is the 'real deal'. Not only do you have the pleasure of watching this opera in the place where it was actually debuted in 1787 but also can almost sense W.A.M. himself canoodling with a starlet in one of the private boxes!... I went there to watch the Don giovanni opera while i was on my holidays in prague.. I booked the ticket before online on a czech website. Arriving there, it took almost 20min just to collect the ticket fro mthe box office, which was outside the theater for some reason, looked very amateur, but ok, outside, the theater looked pretty... We went to this at my wife's insistence. The opera house is beautiful and we got good seats, as it was only partially full. Buy the English guide also as it will guide you through the plot (which is in Italian) so that you know what is going on. It is special to see this performed in the spot where... More

The best musical experience in Prague. The original theatre where the premiere performance of the opera was staged in 1787. The production is faithful to the original version. If you do not speak Italian then read the libretto in your language first because they didn't have projected surtitles in 1787 !
