We ended our free walking tour at the Estates Theatre and saw well dressed people walking in. It was unbelievable, there was a performance of DG in 10 mins. Wow what can i say, such a great theatre (our guide said, the only one left in the world where Mozart actually performed). The performance was great too - not too... More

As ardent Mozart aficionados, it was essential to visit the very theatre where in 1787, Mozart's 'Don Giovanni' premiered. Although the opera was not playing on the days we were in Prague, we watched a performance of the Prague Chamber Ballet, in accompaniment with a Czech quartet, which was lovely!

Don't miss a performance in this most stunning theatre - the oldest in Prague and one of Europe's oldest operating theatres. Mozart himself conducted his Don Giovanni here in 1787. Truly stunning.

We went to see Barbara Hendricks here last Friday. The building is stunning, the performancr amazing but our 18 euro seats on the fifith level were awful. Being tal,l my knees could not fit into the space in frontof me and the fixed hard seats were very uncomfortable.I moved to sit on the stairs. Also be prepared for the theatre... More

Lovely old theater and pleasant opera! opera prices in Prague are one of the few things that is notably less expensive than the other great cities of Europe. Excellent seats can be had for prices that will not get you anything in Italy, Austria or Berlin! We saw Le nozze di Figaro (based roughly on how I met my wife)... More

We are lovers of classical music and experienced opera-goers. We wanted to see Mozart's Don Giovanni in Prague since it had its world première in this very theater. The fact that there were many (good) seats available less than half an hour before the performance would start, and the cheap price of the tickets (550 Kc each) made us a... More

Even if you don't like opera (which I don't), being in the very theater where Mozart was maestro is pretty awe-inspiring. The theater is simply stunning. The performance I saw was Don Giovanni and I sat in the first row of boxes house right, at the angle where there was no craning of the neck involved. I was glad to... More

What a way to experience my first live opera, "Don Giovanni", in the very place where Mozart first premiered and performed his masterpiece! My friends and I got very discounted tickets in the first upper gallery but moved to the third row at intermission. It made a big difference: DON'T get tickets on the side because craning your neck for... More

This was an unforgettable experience. I know Cosi fan Tutte well and found that the performers had some of the best voices I have heard. In addition they managed the comedic acting without overdoing it. The theatre itself is unbelievably beautiful. I was too excited to be sitting in a box (almost centre front). The interpretation for the staging is not... More

Beautiful opera house/theater. We went to see Don Giovanni, and it was superb! The orchestra was great and the lead soprano was wonderful! I will caveat this review by saying that this was my first live opera!
