A unique old theatre and a wonderful opera! A must for a Prague visit! This is the place where A Mozart first presented Don Gioavanni.

Got tickets for the Magic Flute during our visit to Prague. What a gorgeous theater with a deep sense of time and history. I loved being in the same theater that Mozart conducted in. The production was modern but very nicely done and the performers were wonderful. It was the perfect end to a magical day walking around Prague. I... More

This is a beautiful theater both on the inside and the outside, where Mozart conducted Don Giovanni for the very first time. Certainly worth the visit.

this lovingly restored baroque gem where mozart's don giovanni was first performed is the most beautiful opera house or theatre in which i have ever been. we attended a very good performance of gluck's orfeo with an outstanding eurydice. if you have the opportunity, do not miss this building.

Our trip would not have been complete without seeing the Don Giovanni Puppet theatre made popular in the early 90's.The puppeteers were skilled and dexterous! I was so impressed with thier hand work and the way they manipulated the strings and movements of the beautiful handpainted and crafted traditional marionettes. They have tried to preserve the original theatre from the 1920s.This... The very theatre in which Mozart's Don Giovanni was first performed in 1787. A perfect classical building and a gorgeously restored auditorium with marvellous sonority. We saw a well-staged Magic Flute (superb opening scene and first appearance of the Queen of the Night) and a fairly mediocre Don Giovanni. The quality of the singers varies (very poor Don Giovanni and... More

We strolled from our hotel Czerny Slon to this opera house on a cold winter evening. This historic building has an impressive facade with beautiful lighting to the exterior.Upon entering, we were overwhelmed by the spectacular interior of blue and gold. The production was excellent with a superb orchestra and singers who portrayed a lot of humour and good acting... More

.On Dec 8 we attended a performance of our favorite Don Giovanni.Much to our shock Mozart's masterpiece was reduced to a pornographic farce. The female leads wore white tutus and the Don had a tomahawk hairdo Ballet dancers in background performed blatenly obscene gestures.Zelina removed her red panties and tossed them at the Don. Alas

My first ever opera because of being in Prague. Loved the venue and the atmosphere. We were in a box but all the seating appeared first class.
