A Must See in Prague

We visited the Castle District on Segway's and on foot. Worth visiting both ways. Plan on spending a whole day in this area of Prague. There is so much to see and do.

The castle complex in Prague is Europe's largest. It is right on top of a hill and requires one to walk up a hill. The climb is well worth it as the Castle area is very nice. I was disappointed with the Palace though. It could have been grander. The street with the armour etc. was very good.

It is a complex of attractions that felt authentic and well preserved. Compared to some castle tours, I felt I could really imagine what it was like to live there instead of seeing a museum of fancy stuff!

When you visit the Castle District, go see the Castle. But keep walking past the castle (West) as far up as you can go towards the edge of the Castle District. There you can overlook Lesser Quarter, Petrin Hill, and Old Town. You'll find dining options up there that are less touristy as well.

Much to do in Hradcany- the cathedral is beautiful, and the smaller chapel within the fortifications is very peaceful. The castle is not too crowded and has great views of Prague. My kids have always like the Golden Lane as there is a corridor of armour on display

First time to prague in the 80's i skipped this. Castle and cathedral are well worth it. Great views of Prague. Lots to do on this side of the river.

Very quaint, enjoyed the fact that it was pedestrianized, made strolling around very relaxed. Cobbled roads/pavements everywhere, quite tiring on the fee.

Everywhere you look in Prague is amazing, the buildings, the history, it's all around you. If you like this sort of thing then the castle district is one of many areas you'll be blown away with the beauty of.

This huge Castle District looks over Prague and is a fascinating way to spend several hours. Do not miss St. Vitus Church and be sure to see the Klimt stained glass window there. Also worth a visit is the Golden Lane which includes cramped living quarters once used by the castle staff and now re-done in period style or refurbished... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
