We didn't go in the castle as my kids were not interested but we did wander around the area and lower walls. Beautiful views of city. Busy in August!

We stayed at a hotel near here and found the area charming. However, it was too far away from the areas that had the action we liked. Would not stay in the area again.

This whole area is so steeped in culture and tradition, its ridiculous!! You have to have an audio or a guide, if not a lot of the things you see look awesome, but lack true meaning, We bought a ticket to see just 4 of the 10 places of interest in this area for 250Kc. Absolute value for money, but... More

This is a big area which requires a lot of walking. Central place is probably the world's largest castle with a great view of the city. You have to spend one day to explore everything. Definitely worth to be seen. Nearby restaurants are not the cheapest, so be careful.

Whilst we didn't go inside the castle, you can look around and visit inside the walls, very impressive architecture and great views across Prague. Walking down from the Castle to downtown is well worth doing as their are plenty of interesting shops, antique shops and restaurants, its a pretty steep walk but worth it.

One of Europes largest castle/palace complexes. In moderately poor condition, still being restored. The cathedral has enormous stained glass window by Mucha, as well as a baroque interior underneath a gothic exterior. The Lobkowitz palace down the hill has autograph manuscripts by the great composers.

A huge area to walk in, we got lost several times. Lots to see and lots to take pictures of. Great architecture and overview over the city.

Lots to take in with lots of interesting buildings. There are a lot of steps to negotiate in places so not much wheelchair access.

A must visit for any tourist. Attractive buildings and plenty of history. Great views of the river. Do go into the Castle and visit the Cathedral. If you are relatively good walker, continue down to Charles Bridge and onward into the Old Town Square.

Co je krasne vidiet, Rudolfinum, stare meske ulice, socha Tomasa Garika Masaryka, Strachovsky klastor, Klastor Klarisiek, Petrinska vyhladna a samozrejme Chram sv Vita. Co nesmiete si zabudnut je turisticky sprievodca v papierovej alebo elektronickej forme. Bez toho je to na velku skodu. Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
