Take the tram to the entrance it is quite a walk up hill. You need all day for this visit. There are several palaces and the church plus the Golden Lanes to see. Did not like paying for a long or a short visit too restricting. Cafe's were good.

Build in the 9th century. Has St. Vitus Cathedral in the complex. The castle has the offices of the President of the country.
very historical buildings. safe and nice neighborhood. nice architectural buildings to see. nice hustle bustle place to hang out and walk around
We got a tram up the hill to see this area and I am glad we did. This was a beautiful place with such pretty gardens and fountains and then the castle and surrounding buildings. The drinks and cafes here are very expensive as its a typical trap so its worth maybe taking a drink and a sandwich with you...

Not much to see here, the golden mile was a disappointment. The church was nice especially as you see it's architectural progression through the years.
We did an organized tour of this whole area that was very good. It was about a 90 minute tour that was offered by the City Tour company. Very informative. We stayed about 2 hours longer just exploring other things not covered in the tour, We had lunch in the courtyard café. But beware, they only take cash. I was...

The Prague Castle is immense and impressive filled with historical buildings and a lot of Czech history. Unless you are on a tour, there is significant walking required to get to and through the grounds...I suggest you climb the hill to enter and exit the other end via the stairs. Although claimed to be the biggest castle in the world,...

We took tram 22 and went to the back of the castle and walked in that way. The guards were changing so that was a treat. The gardens are beautifully kept and the buildings are superb. We had both been in the castle and cathedral before so just walked down through the gardens and the steps to the bottom of...

we walked up to the castle a number 22 tram goes up but we read that it tends to attract the odd pickpocket.....the walk wasnt to exhausting....the views from the castle were lovely looking over prague. lots of nice bars within the castle district where you could watch the world go by.
Not easy to reach if you don't come with a tour bus or car, but once you're there, breathtaking views and enough to keep you busy for even more than one day. And make sure you get to the castle at 10 mins to the hour to get a good spot for the hourly changing of the guard (and a...
