even if this place is so crowded by tourists, it is just amazing. I suggesting an alternative route, take the tram 22 and get out at Pohorelec station, walk down towards the castle and turn left around the Czernin Palais. Explore the Lorata chruch and the pitoresque quarter new World (Novy Svet), which is lke a tiny village in Prague.... More

We went as part of our organised tour (Collette Worldwide) and had an excellent local guide. This made it a very informative experience. The arrival and issue of tickets was efficient. The views over Prague are worth seeing from this old part of the city. The main ticketed attractions were very busy, but it was certainly worth seeing them, especially the... More

You kind of have to go there. And yes it's crowded. You can get tickets to visit some of the places (the most interesting one is the cathedral). As you'll be on a hill you have a beautiful panorama on the city. If you don't want to do the visits, the buildings are still nice from the outside.

Visited this spot twice during our three days - the first time was in the morning and very cloudy so we returned a second time when the sun returned. The buildings are worth the walk up from the Charles Bridge although it was also fun taking the 22 Tram.

If you've never been to Prague before the scale and opulence of the architecture is something of a surprise. It's also quite a climb if you are walking up from Charles Bridge. Anyone with a disability will definitely need a taxi. There is a small café in the castle gardens where you can put back on the weight you have... More

The guided tours and the overpriced entrance fees for the castle are not worth the money (average £12.0) .So much better off getting a local tram up the hill and explore the castle grounds and gardens yourself. Spectacular views over the often ignored Lower Ton and across the River Vltava into the Old and New Town, it is a must... More

We went first with Tomas from city sightseeing tours bus. He was great with the history. The castle is mostly palace and very little is left from the 'castle-building' age- so don't expect massive walls, turrets, ramparts and such. We were also lucky enough to come across a food and wine show the following day in the palace grounds. The... More
