The cathedral is set close to the palace and other beautiful buildings. Visiting this area is a must, it is extremely clean and shows the history of this beautiful city. The cathedral is amazing, particularly the many stained glass windows.

Like a few of the churches you have to pay to see the whole of the cathedral. You are allowed inside where you can view the gorgeous stain glass (Ive never seen anything quite like it) but there are a lot more stunning churches in prague you can visit for free and each one different and more stunning that the... The most beautiful cathedral I have ever seen. The architecture, the detail - inside and outside was definitely breathtaking.

Historic architecture at its finest. You can't go past St. Vitus Cathedral. Worth the visit inside, but make sure you plan ahead of time as you don't want to be waiting in the queue.

I've traveled enough to Europe to be pretty much done with seeing the cathedral in every city. But this one really does have rather remarkable stained glass and architectural details. It's great for creative photography inside.

The cathedral is worth a visit as it's beautiful. The stained glass Mucha windows are vibrant in the sunshine and the silver tomb is incredibly ornate. Get there for 9am to enjoy the place. By 9.30 it was becoming busy with tour groups. Unfortunately you can't buy a ticket just for the cathedral as it's bundled with the castle entrance... More

As part of the Tour B at the Castle St Vitus is a must. Gracious architecture with the added bonus of modern stained glass windows. Third in on the left is by Alphonse Mucha. Amazing. An absolute feast. A very beautiful cathedral.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
