This cathedral is beautiful. Very old (can't remember how old) and has the beautiful stain glassed windows as per the time. A lot of tourists, but there is a reason for that. Worth the walk up the steps to the Prague Castle.

My asthma couldn't handle the intense mold smells. I wish I had thought to bring an allergy mask. Hard to find the door. Don't be ashamed to ask.

Beautiful and inspirational. Try to attend a Mass, not just visiting as a tourist. Every last Sunday the Mass is in Latin, and it is a wonderful service. Arrive early to guarantee a good seat.

Really impressed by this building, the architecture was amazing and the details on the windows are something else, as part of Prague castle this is a must do in my opinion.

First time I visited, I experienced what it meant to see something "breathtaking." I have since visited a number of cathedrals, but St. Vitus was my "first" cathedral and will always have a special place in my heart as a result.

The St Vitus Cathedral is Prague is without a doubt one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals I've ever seen. It's huge vaulted interior, beautiful stained glass windows, and ornate pulpit and sculptures simply take your breath away. It was the highlight of the Prague Castle tour for me.

Fabulous cathedral, that was erected at two very different times in history. The facade actually has people in modern dress depicted on it. The stained glass is glorious, especially the Mucha window. You cannot miss the tomb of St John Nepomuk, with it's elaborate silverwork, or the Wenceslas chapel. A must do when in Prague. Try to get here early... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
