The area where all kinds of people and tourists meet, some to just stroll and enjoy the beautiful old buildings, their architecture and uniqueness. The square is spacious and one can just sit, eat in the nearby restaurants or just listen to different kinds of street musicians. Alive during day and night.

Not many new or reconstructed buildings here. All that you see is old as in original... A great place for strolling, window shopping, and dining. I loved the feel of the whole place. Watch out for street performances on weekends.

A very busy part of Prague and one that everyone goes to. The other side of the river is much prettier in my opinion, however this is fun and nice to visit during the week. Weekends are very crowded

One of the main highlights of my visit -- I came back everyday at least to simply pass through and enjoy the marvelous, chilled out energy as well as the stunningly beautiful architecture. It is especially nice at dusk as the crowds become a bit less intense and the night pub crawlers haven't yet taken to the streets. Musicians and... More

Every building has something special, when you look at it, takes you to travel back in time and imagine you were there when other people were living there. These buildings breathe history and that makes you special since you are there, visiting, taking pictures, being part of history.

unlike many major European cities, Prague was not bombed in WWII; consequently, it's historical character is largely in tact. It is a beautiful city with a deep and fascinating history. Take the Naked Tour while you are there--small, personal, informative

I signed up for one of the hop-on/hop-off bus tours, and to be honest, most of the stops did not seem very special or unique. However, once the bus stopped at Old Town, it made the trip worthwhile. This area just seemed so magical, with the colourful buildings, impressive fountains and clock tower, and everyone seeming so happy to be... More

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
