Too much to do, so little time! People come for the weekend but really the castle could take two days. So much genuinely beautiful architecture as well as wonderfully friendly people. Recommend a 4 day stay. Very small town, walk as much as you can, but ladies, bring flat shoes as all streets are cobbled.

Brilliant loved the buildings. Didn't dislike anything about the Old Town. Make sure you go and visit the Special Effects Museum in the Old Town as you will have lots of fun.

There are stores, restaurants and bars all over the Old Town. It can be easy to get turned around, especially on a cloudy day. I suggest carrying a map in your pocket to help keep your bearings. And, invest in good walking shoes with thick, sturdy soles. Your feet will thank you!

So much history and fantastic buildings to explore. You definitely need to pack comfortable shoes when visiting this area as you could walk around and explore all day long - amazing. The main attraction of the astronomical clock can get very crowed coming up to the hour as everyone gathers to see the show but generally you can stroll around... More

I loved just wandering the streets and exploring the different neighborhoods, from the exclusive shops around Parizska (Paris) street, to the quiet Josefov (Jewish) neighborhood (probably because it was Saturday). And then there is the main square, which is quite a sight to see, not because of the buildings and definitely not as nice as Brussels or Bruges for example,... More

The astronomical clock is one of the main attractions. There are a lot of interesting buildings around the square, people watching, many shops and resturants. The square takes on a different look after dark. Tons of Italian restaurants which was a nice surprise. Food is reasonably priced compared to France or Lindon. There is a local farmers market. If in... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
