The town square is packed with people from around the world speaking many languages. There are entertainers at all ends keeping everyone happy. There are numerous restaurants with outdoor seating - most have great beer, duck, pork, and wursts.

Beautiful setting! Close to the downtown area. Lots of shopping stores around. Watch for people selling fake Czech curreny.

Speaking for December, the thrill was to visit the markets. To be honest the markets are nothing special (aimed at tourists) but still delightful and the ambiance is wonderful and it's a cracking way to get into the Christmas spirit. The real star is the architecture; look up and around 360 and you will be blown away by by the... More

Prague is just awesome. By far the most beautiful city in Europe I have been to. Old Town square is one of my most favorite places, although it is crowded as hell, but filled with so much history. It is best during Christmas.

We spent days here wandering the delightful maze of twisting streets. At every turn you get a surprising view that stuns your senses.

Great atmosphere day and night, loads of kiosks and stands selling everything from souveniers to hand made locally manufactured gifts. Lots of variety of street food and hot wines and meads. The whole town square buzzes every 15 minutes in anticipation of the town clock chiming with its huge flock of onlookers. Amazing this time of year

If you want to experience the Christmas ambience in Europe, visit a Christmas market. Better yet, visit the one at the Old Town Square in Prague, where you'll get to sample traditional festive foods and shop for local festive decorations in pop-up stalls along with thongs of local and overseas holidaymakers. It's chilly and sometimes wet to be sure, but... More

The prices in the surrounding restaurants are high but if you walk few meters in the side streets it's much cheaper. However, for that spectacular view, it's worth it.
