I didn't know what to expect before going there. For being #11 on tripadvisor and first time in Prague, I thought to myself, maybe I should check it out. This site is probably a good example why Prague is over-rated as a tourist destination. Maybe I am missing something here. It is just a cemetery. How they have the audacity... more

I had wanted to see the Old Jewish Cemetery while I was in Prague, and I am glad I did! It is amazing to walk through, realizing that many of the headstones date back 300, 400, or even 500+ years! All of the headstones are written in Hebrew, so I couldn't read any of them - and many were so... more

This is a walled cemetery with thousands of tombstones. For a very long time this was he only place where the Jews of Prague could be buried, and the crowding resulted in the maze of stones collapsed upon one another. There is a narrow path leading through the area, and visitors can only move as quickly as the person ahead.... more
