There is beautiful scenery on all sides. The sculptures, lanterns, and stalls are all lovely. Early morning and late night you have a better chance of a quieter stroll.

At Charles Bridge you feel like the tourist that you are. The day we visited, the street entertainment was wonderful. Lots of souvenir shops, vendors, bars, and cafes pulled into a rather small, narrow area. Overall though, the bridge delivers in its spectacle, puts you into Old Town or Lesser Town (depending on your direction), and belongs on your bucket... More

This landmark is a must to visit. I would especially advise families to travel with children to get this done as early in the day as possible because it gets difficult to manoever a stroller due to the large crowds later on during the day. You can also get much better pictures if you are an early riser.

Old and cobbled, with statues along its length, it spans the river, which is great to look at in either direction. The bridge itself was packed on the days I was in the city and every 10yds there appeared to be a busker or beggar of one sort or another. Not one of the highlights for me unfortunately.

Timeless! We enjoyed our walk across and the visit to both sides of the beautiful river. There is nothing like it in North America in my opinion.

Great atmosphere walking on the bridge with the market stores. Go on a city tour and get the history of the bridge and statures.

We stayed on Karlova street with a view of the Charles Bridge right outside our window. The walk across the bridge was beautiful and the statues that line the bridge are fascinating.

When you walk across the bridge look at the statues and red abort them in your your guide. You will understand more of Prags historie.

When we were at the Charles Bridge it was hustle and bustle with throngs of people and many vendors lining the bridge. I loved looking at their offerings, many handmade, however I was with a group and was unable to tarry for long....just short gazings. It was fun and I did enjoy it...so glad there were restrooms thst were fairly... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
