A must do in Prague is walking over the Charles Bridge. Lots of street musicians, local artists, but of a nice quality. Not the expected tourist 'trap' kind of performers. Also, all along the bridge, there are countless statues that are very interesting.

Such a beautiful bridge. It is functional as well as decorative. We visited this bridge multiple times, mostly out of function but also because we enjoyed it. We were able to enjoy beautiful views of the castle from the bridge. Lots of vendors selling things on the bridge (seemed a bit overpriced compared to shops we went into but fun... More

We really loved the Charles Bridge. It is beautiful to walk over, and even better are the very reasonably priced boat tours (we took a 50 min boat tour for €10 each) where you can enjoy the tour with a glass of wine and get to see the Bridge from each side and beneath. Well worth a visit and closer... More

Sunrise and sunset , these are the perfect moments when you must be on the bridge for the best view over Vltava river. An epic scene! In the middle of the day the bridge is full of tourists, street artists, lively but crowdy. Don't forget to touch at least one of the gorgeous statues on the bridge-they bring you luck!

Spectacular views from the Bridge. Statues along the bridge are great. Local artists sell their work along the bridge. Must see at night.

Charles Bridge is at the heart of experiencing Prague. You can get great photos of the castle atop the hill being reflected in the river. Being a pedestrian bridge, you can enjoy the towers, statues, and many artists and musicians as you stroll along looking at the wares of many vendors.

We've seen it at day and at night. At night the scenery is even more beautiful. It is always busy at this bridge, so to get a good view we walked to the other bridge to get a good overview. There is 1 statue at the side of the bridge which every body was touching, there was even a line.... More

It's not just the statues; the view from the bridge on both banks of the river is just amazing. Be sure to cross it early in the morning or later in the evening. On pick hours it gets impassable.

This is a picturesque bridge and well worth visiting both during the day and night. There are free tours which give a great account of the deep history.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
