Yes, there are areas here that you need to see - Astronomical clock, the town hall, Tyn Church - so don't miss. But suggest to go early in am, or later in evening when all the big tour groups are gone. There are many street performers here, if that suits you, and some expensive, touristy restaurants. Suggest to see this... More

The Old Town is full of very attractive buildings. The 15th century astronomical clock is very near the Square, and it is the main attraction.

The clock is a landmark of prague. Also a very nice place to have dinner or a drink during the evening.

Walked around on my own here when I came to Prague. People everywhere taking photos and going to the top a a tower. Check out the local cuisine in the pop up stalls along the side. Cheap eating and drinking is a great way to avoid paying to much at a restaurant.

Large square perfect to people watch. Buskers all around to entertain. There was a police van there, but they seemed mainly there to help tourists find their way. I felt very safe there as I rested between forays into the shops.

If you are an avid people watcher or love abit of history or enjoy shopping then the old town square is a must visit. Hop on a horse and carriage, or the cute little old town train and let all of what Prague has to offer be presented to you. Plenty of cheap cafes all arounf the square and the... More

We loved the old town square. This is where everyone in Prague converges to quite literally. The restaurants here are good though you need to choose which one to go to. The astronomical clock is magnficent.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
