The Old Town Square is an experience not to be missed. I strongly suggest that you visit during the day and also at night. The lighting and night time scene is unique. The Square is free so that is a plus, buskers and restaurants make for a pleasant scene. It also the center where your walking tour across the Charles... More

Really amazing place, spectacular arhitecture of all the marking buildings around. . Lots of turists here to admire it. Lots of fancy cafes as well as hotels. Went actually in August 2013, was perfect in the evenings. People were partying casually in the square.

for the best pictures, you should go there. go up the clock tower to see everything in Prague. theres are restaurants around but you have to try to find the choice factory (don't visit the museum) but you have to try their hot chocolate..it is simply the best

Central to the city and within walking distance of various sights like charles bridge etc. A great way to get a feel for the city and the moment we arrived we were lucky to see the astronomical clock and watch the apostles walk out....this happens on the hour and a crowd of tourists can be seen collecting around the clock... The old town square is a cobbled area, as are virtually all of the streets in Prague, which overlooks several attractions such as the astronomical clock, at the minute house where Franz Kafka lived, the old town hall and a large monument in the centre of the square which is the Jan Hus statue (a reformer during the 14th to... Me & my partner stayed in the Savic Hotel which is just a street away form the Old Town Square. We definitely hit the jackpot with the location as it was by far our favourite area. Their are a few food stalls and the famous clock. The buildings are gorgeous. We also found a rooftop bar in the old square... More

Went to Old Town Square on my first day in Prague and immediately felt like I was immersed in the culture. The square is central to all the main attractions. My favorite part was exploring the surrounding side streets with authentic Czech foods, shops, and people. Truly a beautiful area.

the square in itself is beautiful, with a mix of mediaeval and baroque buildings. the main attraction is the astronomical clock, of course, which gathers a crowd at every hour. this is where all tours start. Free tour is good enough.

Some great displays marking the end of communism poignant but shocking. great little stalls and segway operators offering tours but make sure you hustle as everyone is cheaper. Avoid the beggars by all means as they are not real a true homeless person will be picking out bins so dont be alarmed when you see this even if it is... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
