Lots happen in the Old Town Square. Restaurants and shops line the large open square. Musicians and other performers abound, but are not overwhelming or annoying. That is a delicate balance. The astronomical clock is a big draw.

Read up prior - lots of little things can get lost in all that's happening here, Use the morning to go over the various historical sites in and around the Square, then avoid it during the afternoon. Come back in the evening for whatever concerts and/or buskers are playing - there's always something.

The old town square is the most important attraction to visit in Prague. Most of the other attractions are located in the square. You can visit Pariszka street which has luxurious stores and brands. It's located near the square. Wenceslas square is an another nice place to visit and it's near the old town square.

A venue for weekend performances, good food and the astronomical clock. When in Prague you can't miss it.

You simply cant visit Prague without going to the square, in all honesty you will find just by wandering around without even looking for it due to its magnetism in drawing pedestrians to it. it has got busy over the years and you will find all you want in it, bars and restaurants, street performers, markets and offcourse segways everywhere.... The Old Town Square is a “must-do” in Prague and is the heart of the city. Prague is a very walkable city so I’d recommend booking a hotel that is just minutes away. We stayed at the Green Garland B&B which was a 2 minute walk to the square. I’d recommend to go early in the morning before 8am to... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
