Old Town Square is a historically rich and beautiful part of town! The buildings are visually stimulating and are a part of why Prague is such a lovely destination. This area is a must visit spot in Prague. It's a quick walk from most any of the major sites.

Lovely square in the heart of the Old Town, don't forget to visit the Astronomical Clock whilst you're in the area. Beware the "Old Prague Ham" stalls, whilst the meat is lovely they portion sizes are forced on you and charged by the 100g so work out expensive. But one portion between 4 and see if you're still hungry, you... More

We are on our last day/night of a long weeknd in prague and the old town square really is the place to be! The astronomical clock is such a beautiful building but the clock going off every hour is a bit of a let down. Lastnight we ate in one of the restaurants after watching a fire eater, street acts... Always buzzing with people and restaurants and activities....often tents set up with entertainment and food vendor carts. Don't miss the dough And sugared cinnamon treats.... The astronomical clock is also in this square and folks pack in to see it go off every hour on the hour.

You could happily spend all day here. The world famous astronomical clock draws people. We went in winter, and were glad of the bars selling mulled wine.

Old Town Square is a must for all tourists. We enjoyed sitting in the square to watch people go by. There are very often street performers in the square. Buy some food and beverage from the stalls (in the park between the town building and the St. Nichols Church), and take an enjoyable afternoon break in the square!

Beside the crowd at peek hours, it's a great place, a must for every visit in Prague. I'd recommend arriving early in the morning or late at night.

This square is a must visit as this is where you will find the Tyn Church (which really look gorgeous at night), St Nicholas Church and the Old Town Hall with the Astronomical Clock. Viewing deck (fee required) at the top of town hall gives great panoramic views of the city. At night, this place comes to life with al... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
