This long market is a mix of tourism affairs and some local (expensive) fruit (baskets of fresh fruits on display with blueberries, raspberries,…). You do not see any local buying at this market, why? We had expected the prices to be cheaper for souvenirs! The sellers where quite friendly. A lot of the handmade puppets and other toys made of... Market place directly in the heart of tourist zone with mostly useless things and enormously overpriced fruit. For example: a small basket with berries (exactly 125 gram - 4,5 U.S. ounce) sells for 160 CZK = 8 US dollars! However, he price written on the basket is deceiving, showing the cost only for 100 grams! Some stores put on scale... More

Decent little market. Considering the low overhead, I expected prices to be cheaper for souvenirs but wishful thinking.

I enjoyed walking around the Havelske Trziste, the sellers where really friendly. I loved all of the handmade puppets, there was so many of them it was great. The atmosphere was very cheery and I spent ages looking at through the market. I really had fun and bought some unusual little gifts for myself and family.

I stop for the fresh fruit. The berries are irresistible and I eat them soon after I pay for them. Can't resist. Eat them unwashed- against my better judgement. They don't spray them with chemicals here or do they? :) Bluberries and raspberries. They have the fresh, right out off the woods taste of my childhood- the berries we picked... More

Picturesque market with lots of souvenir shops all around. Expect some mouth-watering if you just take a look at those baskets of fresh fruits on display. : )

The fleamarket is very close to Wenceslas Square, ie unlike many fairs in other cities, no need to get away from the route to find it. It is certainly one of the best places to buy souvenirs at low prices.

This is a nice market. I am told it is there every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, however I'm not sure. I was there in January and it was open, there are plenty souvenirs to buy, some good wooden toys, and very cheap fruit. Less than 50 cents of a euro for a small basket of berries or leechees... Plums... More

This is very nice place to see as it has been a market since the 13th century but the prices are a bit higher than normal.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
