This market was established in 1232 and used to sell only fresh produce. Presently, merchandise includes produce , fresh flowers, beer steins, souvenir magnets, clocks, paintings, pictures, colorful wooden flowers, wooden marionettes, cutting boards, wooden toys and puzzles, costume jewelry, cloth purses and candy. It's a rather small market. If you happen to be in the area, you may want to explore,... More

Lovely little market in the Old Town. Great for souvenirs and little wooden puppets and toys and fairly reasonably priced. Accept Euros too which is handy. Open 7 days a week. Quite small so easy to get round but worth a visit if you want to pass an hour.

Right in the heart of Old Town is this block long market vending fruits, vegetables, souvenirs and an assortment of other interesting items. It is fun to wander through the aisles to see what is available and find some nice gifts. It is covered so you can shop come rain or shine.

If you are looking for sweets and souvenirs the this is the place to come. Fridge magnets galore! In the end I bought some sweets to take back to work colleagues.

Great little market, geared towards tourists, for baubles and little souvenirs. Most stalls take Koruna and Euros, which is convenient. At one end, there is a big candy store, and at the other there is a great place to eat. Only need 20-30 minutes here, but I got lots of little gifts here.

We were just strolling along from our apartment rental nearby on Masna, one morning about 9:30am, and the delicious scent of cinnamon baking drew us to this area. That would be Tredlnik, and you do NOT want to miss having one. For your first one, just go with the "plain" cinnamon sugar as it is basically made...wow! From there, we tripped into... More

Sells fruits, veggies and souvenirs and is not far from Wenceslas Square and Na Prikope so it is fairly easy to find. Surrounded by colorful buildings including a pretty church, Ceska Kuhyne (Czech Kitchen), Hooters, and several other restaurants and cafes. Nothing overly special about this that would make you cross town but if you are in the area, I... More

Made a point of coming here having been to the market in Republic Square - was a bit cheap and cheerful with prices higher than the surrounding tourist shops. Lots of smokers making browsing unpleasant.

This is probably one of the oldest markets of Prague. It is located near Melantrichova Street, a pedestrian walkway close to the Wenceslas Square. Havelske Trziste or Havel’s Market was set up in 1232. Initially only fresh produce were sold here. With the advent of tourists after the Velvet Revolution the focus was shifted to souvenirs. Now in addition to... More

Nice little market north to Wenceslas Square. You can find there fruits, Souvenirs and beautiful wooden hand crafts. Worth a visit if you're in this area.

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
