In August 2013 my wife and I visited this house. To think that Mozart walked around this place evokes incredible emotions. Most of important things were removed from here in the past but, the house and presence of Mozart is strongly felt here; it brought tears to my eyes to walk the stairs, enter the house and see the windows,... Bertramka museum, originally a (private) house that Mozart had stayed when he was visiting Prague (late 18th Century). From our Diplomat Hotel, we took a taxi back and forth to see it, at the suggestion of our tour operator (in the itinerary). Mozart? A big name, must see? When we got there, the entrance area looked simple. The immediate area... More

Not sure if Bertramka has opened again. Wonderful Mozart museum and chamber music concerts. Our many visits have been over a number of years, not recently, however. Keep an eye on the website for updates.

Getting to Bertramka was fun - taking the subway and a bus. But once arriving at the Mozart Museum, there was nothing of value. All of the exhibits have been removed due to an international dispute between competing Mozart Museums in Austria and Czech Republic. Literally, there was nothing devoted to Mozart in the museum.

Hello, everyone! I'm writing on behalf of the Friends of Bertramka, a group with the Mozart Society of America, that is trying to raise funds to restore the villa. Please see the website here: www.mozartsocietyofamerica.org/bertramka. We may arrange a fundraising event this year. News will be posted on the website, so be sure to check it from time to time.... We visited Bertramka a few years ago. A beautiful place and a beautiful house. The ghost of Mozart was still wondering around. Just beautiful. How we were disappointed this year. Tears were coming in my eyes, terrible, terrible, nothing of the former beauty was left ..... All the beautiful things were taken out and the building is shabby and not... More

As a Mozart fanatic, I visited Bertramka 16 years ago and loved it. I took my partner this year, having raved about it and was SO disappointed. After changes in ownership, I gather the Czech Museum of Music has plundered all the artifacts, manuscripts, instruments and paintings. There is nothing there apart from a modern harpsichord, a half-hearted exhibtion about... More
