We recently took a private tour around Prague’s Jewish Quarter with the fantastic Anna Kristyna Sion (who can be contacted via http://terezin-private-tours.com) This private tour is simply amazing. Time just seemed to fly as Anna was showing us around Prague’s Jewish quarter, all the while deftly bringing this (nearly) vanished world alive with many wonderful stories and little known facts.... Our family recently took a tour of the Jewish Quarter with Anna. She is very knowledgeable about Czech Jewish history and speaks with passion about the topic. Even with the sweltering conditions (it was one of the hottest days of the summer), we remained captivated by Anna’s presentation. I would recommend Anna as a tour guide to anyone who wants... More

I had a great experience on this walking tour and learned a lot about Czech history as well as its modern history. My tour guide took us through the Old Town, Jewish Quarters, several churches and synagogues, showed us the current Czech holocaust museum and more. James was a very friendly and knowledgable guide who evidently cares about his job and... More

Dear Traveler, we certainly DONT provide free tours. Even though you have enjoyed the tour I cannot recommend this service because most of the explanations that are given during free tours are inaccurate and twisted. It is a common practice that a tour guide who was doing free tours in Berlin, came to Prague yesterday, learned a few pages about... More

After trawling the net for day trips to Auschwitz from Prague (and it is not possible by train unless you are willing to take two overnight trains to and fro) I settled on Private Prague Guide via the net. Jay was very helpful from the start and within 24 hours our trip was organised. It is a long trip there... More

i got to visit Prague as a chaperone on my school trip during Easter break. It was best time. Of year to go. The people were so friendly and getting around the city is easy. Our tour guide started at the castle and we made our way down the hill to the town center. Going through Golden Lane which is... More

Kelly was our tour guide. She did an amazing job. Thank you. Gina Bailey and Mikayla Subleski of Holland, Ohio. We started out with Ira who also was amazing. Can someone let her know that a vampire was called an upir (WITH A SLANT OVER THE I) I couldn't remember what they were called while there. Much appreciated. We loved... More

We emailed the concierge at the Hilton Prague in advance asking her to arrange a personal guide for us. We were very pleased, however the guide does not provide transportation, there is an option to use public transportation, taxis or the hotel car. The price without the transportation is about $50.00 an hour, with a 3 hour minimum. Our guide... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
