The free tour was one of the best tours I have ever had whilst travelling. Our tour guide David, was very knowledgeable about not only Czech history but all of the Slavic history too, he summarised the last 2000 years into very manageable chunks and has inspired me to do some further reading into Czech History. Definitely a tour I... More

Sarah was an awesome guide on our free tour of the old town. She takes you from the medival days through WWII, and to the velvet revolution.

We took an easy stroll around some of the key sites in Prague. Ian gave us lots of interesting information without being dry or dull. He also gave us some valuable tourist advice and tips. I loved his storytelling ability and admired his people skills.

Tijo was a great tour guide. We did the free city tour. He had lots of fun facts and we saw many of the tourist sights. We even booked the Castle Tour with Tijo for the same afternoon. Highly recommended when in Prague.

What a great city Prague is, and our tour guide Ian was brilliant. Although it was a large group of people he made sure everyone was ok. The tour took about 3 1/2 hours including a 30 minute break and was packed with great sights and interesting facts, not only about Prague itself but also the Czech people and their... More

The best thing to do on your 1st or 2nd day in Prague, it gives you an overview of the most interesting places to visit and is a good introduction into the history of Prague. Our guide Ian was excellent, really passionate about the tour and keeping us informed, also recommending nice places to visit, advice how to avoid the... More

Have done quite a few of the free Sandemans free tours. They are always fun, informative and a great way to get a feel for the city you are visiting. We had Ian (2 days ago). He held the attention of everyone and we really enjoyed the tour. My only issue was being in a group of 30, we have... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
