I enjoyed the tour but they didnt tell me they offered tours in English and I took it in Czech, and had to follow along on handout even though I speak no czech. It wasnt bad but would have liked to have known more. I didnt do tour 1 and would recommend it. The mine tour was very good, fun... More

I made the trip to Kutna Hora just for this. It was definitely worth it. You'll need to be in decent shape though. More

It was nice to get out of town for a little bit. Kutna Hora is defiantly a tourist town, but it is a beautiful small town an hours train ride from Prague. We did the "bone church" and 2 others while in Kunta Hora, but the mine was our favorite. The guides were VERY friendly and patient. They spoke English... More

It is very instructive for everybody who wants to learn more about the work of medieval silver miners and to see in what conditions they had to work. It probably will not be very interested for small children and, thank to the trip around narrow underground corridors, definitely not for claustrofobic. More

This was an absolute favorite attraction for my 9 and 6 year old! It was active, interesting, exciting and educational. The guide was so informative and we loved putting on the mining clothes, hardhat and carrying the big light. The tunnel is quite tight in some areas, so if you are claustrophobic, this is not the activity for you. Moderate... More

This place is definitely worth a visit. We took the tour of the ex-silver mine and our tour guide, although young (and relatively good-looking =P) was very informative and gave us pretty detailed information about the mine's history and everything. Going thru the mines was an interesting experience. It gives you a feel of the work conditions of a silver... More

The initial part of the tour was quite informative, but rather boring. However, being taken down into the actual silver mine was an unmatched experience. This is not an activity for the claustrophobic though. At certain points, the mine is extremely tight, and turning back isn't the easiest maneuver. I would have liked more time in the mine itself, but... More

Kutna Hora is a surprising little town-- we opted for independent travel, since the packaged tours we saw were 10x more expensive than going it alone. While the train dropped us on the far side of town, closest to to Kustonice (ossuary), we walked the mile to the centre, turned uphill and were rewarded with the sight of the beautiful... More

We went on tour 2, which included the trip underground. We didnt want the full 1.5 hour tour of the buildings, and tools, and asked if we could just go and see the mine shaft. As luck would have it, we'd arrived just in time to tag on to a tour already half-way round, and joined them just in time... More

The main attraction in the Hradek Mining Museum is a tour of an actual mining shaft under ground. The tour starts and ends with some pretty dry exhibits, mostly old mining tools and methods, but in between, you'll drop down 30m (~100 feet) underground and poke your way through the last mining shaft still open in Kutna Hora. You will... More
