If you decide to go to Cesky Krumlov, dont miss this gallery! Egon Schieles paintings were not allowed to be published in Austria as they were too sexy... so be moved to Cesky Krumlov in Bohemia, where everything is possible. Interesting museum, really great experience! :)

This magnificent building is well worth a visit. It is old, but it has been tastefully modernised to create a vast exhibition area which displays the work of modern Czech artists, much of it of high quality. There is a lot of information about Egon Schiele who lived in the city for several years before being chased out for painting... More

The Schiele was pretty impressive for a regional town, and certainly made no concessions for the tourist nature of the town - it's full-on contemporary art. The temporary exhibitions were well displayed in what is an impressive building, with interesting routes and use of space. They were a little gloomy for my taste, but of course it's pot luck which... This is a well thought exhibit celebrating the life and art of Egon Schiele, that makes for a nice stop in the charming but busy and touristy Cesky Krumlov.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this museum. I wasn't overly familiar with Schiele's work beforehand, but I'm trying to soak up as much music, art, and culture as possible. This gallery turned out to be great! There is an extensive Shiele collection, as well as art by artists from the same time period. I was pleasantly surprised and... More

The old brewery is nicely reconstructed and houses a museum of contemporary art. There is a nice caffe on the side of the Art Centre with home-made strudel

Cesky Krumlov has many beautiful places to visit, but in case of rain, the Egon Schiele Art Centre is best of all.

This funky little museum in the heat of Krumlov has a small collection of works of Schiele (no photography allowed), but the main Schiele attraction is information about his life, and a small video. In addition, there are large rooms where other, contemporary artists are exhibited, which really makes it worth a visit (photography allowed). I recommend people coming to... More

I had the pleasure of visiting the Egon Schiele Art Centre just a little over three weeks ago, and I feel it's an excellent museum. I found the displays of Egon Schiele's works to be quite captivating, and very innovative and groundbreaking and unique for their time. And what also impressed me about the museum are the displays of other... More

Egon Schiele was a painter whose mother was from Krumlov, so he spent time in the town. His work was influenced by Gustav Klimt one of the Vienna Secessionists. We were excited to see this gallery, but found two floors of other artists work and one floor of Schiele. The building is very old and atmospheric, there is a film... More
