Cesky Krumlov being a UNESCO cite is worth a visit, given the history and the nice castle and buildings. Just a short bus-ride from Prague.

Absolutely worth a detour! Located ideally between Vienna and Prague, this historic gem of a town has to be seen to be believed. Sure - because of its beauty and charm - it's a little touristy (many shops, restaurants, hotels and inns), but the well-preserved authenticity makes up for it in every way. If you love history and want to...

It was a nice castle. You have to climb a bit to the top from where you get a great view of the town below and the river too. The garden is nice with well maintained lawns. Very few places to see in this quaint little town and the castle is one of them. Worth a leisurely visit though.
wonderful history, art, step through time! "The place where History IS" We loved Prague but Cesky Krumlov is a charming delicious step back through time. From the cuisine to the castle to the bucolic setting....a trip I will always cherish.
Beautiful town and perfect for a short stay... Had 2 nights there and that was definitely enough. Ideal for "activities" such as hiking, canoeing but the river was flooded on our visit and so this limited the options available. Lovely town though!

There have been reports that Cesky Krumlov is closed, or has been destroyed by floods and is no longer open to tourists.

Amazing city, if you're in the Czech Republic you have to go there for at least one day. I didn't know what to take a picture of, because everywhere I looked was so amazing. It feels like you stepped back in time to a small medieval town.
Cesky Krumlov is a beautiful little town where you can be mistaken for forgetting which century you are in. Try staying overnight and mingling with the locals, who are a lot more sociable once the hordes in tour busses have headed back to Prague having completed their day trip. Not only are there historical sites to visit the locally brewed...
