Beautiful castle completely covered by sgrafittos plaster and surrounded byl large park and french garden with statues of Olbram Zoubek. ¨ Nice interiors (equipment represents mostly styles of 19. century) and unique baroque theather. If you consider a visit, I recommend booking in advance, especially for special ocassisons.

For some reason this small town is still does not attract so many tourists and I wonder why. It would make a wonderful day trip from Prague. The chateau is amazing, the town has a beautiful well preserved square, they have a couple of good restaurants, they also organize a music festival in June. And still you get the feeling... More

Beautiful location in pittoresque town. Must-see place in UNESCO heritage list. There are 2 gudided tours:1. The guided circuit includes a unique in-house theater, figural sgraffito decorations, and representation rooms. 2.Exhibition of historical pianos and theatrical wings and backcloths. This Chateau is birthplace of famous Bedřich Smetana.

The attraction is included in Unesco's heritage list and the walls of this building are unique in their designs and intricate detail. The surrounding area of this chateau are also worth visiting.

The main reasons to visit this "UNESCO" castle are picturesque baroque castle theater, envelope sgraffiti on the walls and courtyard design (figural sgraffiti, arcades). As the city Litomyšl offers other museums and monuments (it is i.a. birthplace of Bedrich Smetana), it is worth a whole day visit.

It's more a chateau than a castle, in any case quite nice and located near the town center. Shows often interesting exhibits and both the chateau and the surrounds are worth seeing.
