It didn't help that the day was overcast with drizzle.... and it was a bit hard for my 84 year old mother with her walker on the paths (but she did it!!) - she's quite unsteady on her feet but our guide was extremely patient. Loved the Old Gaol ... so glad its being looked after - We only did... More

I found this a brilliant experience. Walked around the farm and the owl hut but the glow worms were excellent. I had never seen them before and my partner said that of the few other places she's been this was the best. Yes ok they are man made caves ect but u are pretty much guaranteed to see them, which... After reding these reviews we decided to go, we went on the 90 minute tour (note you are not able to wonder around on your own you have to go on a guided tour) which was dragged out by talking of the guide, we actually could of done this tour within 30-45mins but the guide just talked way too much.... We've been before so was keen to go again but found ourselves quite disappointed this time. We went in for the whole experience and didn't get it. The glow worms were beautiful but the experience was badly spoilt by our guide before we even went in. He was overbearing and intolerant towards our daughter (who is 8) while we waited... More

Wow! An absolute gem of a place nestled in Shannon. Beautiful surroundings and fabulous people from the instant you step out of your car. Animal welfare is clearly paramount and we learnt so much. The farmyard tour is wonderful. The Owl tour fantastic and everything in between. We'll be back and recommend. Well done Ben you were impressive and to... More

This had been on our bucket list for some time and I am so glad we got to spend a fascinating two hours here. The staff were so knowledgable and passionate about their roles and responsibilities within the park and were keen to share their enthusiasm. We we came away knowing so much more about the owls and how they... More

I have been to a few wildlife parks and sancturys in my life where you go in you pay some money and have a look around, by yourself and that just it. Owlcatraz was in all way different and brought new meaning to the term wildlife park. I paid 30 dollars for a two hour tour which was an absolute... More

I visited Owlcatraz with my 6 year old grand daughter on Saturday. I was not sure what to expect but could not get over the warm welcome we recieved, the passion of the guides and learning so much about the birds. I was also loved walking through the well maintained bush areas and to see the birds in their natural... More

Visited with friends, one of whom had been waiting to visit for years (she's an owl lover). Decided to do the full tour, as we were there anyway, not knowing quite what to expect-we were very surprised and pleased with the experience. The staff's passion for what they do is very apparent, and all very knowledgeable. Would recommend ringing beforehand... More

Went to Owlcatraz with my wife and friends today, what a passionate bunch of people. Great tour through the glow worm caves that they made themselves with kiwi ingenuity and a ton of number 8 wire. My wife nearly cried when she saw the first of the owls, she's loved them forever and is still glowing. The rest of the... More
