The Chena Hot Spring Resort is like no other experience. It is giant outdoor hot tub. To get there, it is a ride down a two lane highway. The drive is rustic and moose will often graze by the side of the road and in nearby streams and rivers. When you get to the springs, there is a small changing... More

Beautiful drive to and from the hot springs (saw a lot of moose). We really enjoyed relaxing in the Hot springs pool. Water temp was about 100-105 degrees in the pool, like a hot tub, and they have a fountain spraying out cool water, if you get too hot. The scenic view from inside the pool was amazing, you are... In all fairness, I have to say I loved the mineral springs rock pool. It was definitely hot and a cool experience (sort of like the 60's revisited). The grounds are lovely, flowers everywhere and beautiful gardens. Took the Ice Museum Tour--great ice sculptures but kind of Graceland'ish to me. The geothermal power plant and greenhouse tours were very interesting... More

We had fun here. The hot springs was great. Remember to use the hand rail. The ice museum was decent but I felt it was a little to expensive,

The hot pool is simply wonderful! Be aware of some very hot spots by the far rocks! Also, the ramp in can be very slippery - hold the handrail or walk down very slowly.

We did this as an excursion from a Princess Cruises cruise-tour. I paid $240 for this which was high, as it did not quite meet up to the way it was portrayed in the literature. The ride out from Fairbanks was exciting, lots of moose and a big old grizzly bear. The food left something to be desired - DO... More

We made this trip on June 21st and I have to be honest - the most amazing thing I found from this side-trip out of Fairbanks were all the moose along the highway in and out. In every place where one might think to see a moose grazing, we did. Every marshy area and pond had at least one. We... More

The drive from Fairbanks to the Hot Springs is beautiful. The Chena Hot Springs Resort has lots to do and see, but we only did the hot springs and ice museum. It was a lovely way to pass the day. You can return to the hot springs as much as you want for the day, so try them before and... More

I went for the hot springs and stayed 1 night at the campground for 20$...mistake. All along the 60 mile road there are hundreds of free beautifull places to camp, and lots of wildlife. I drove it in late afternoon and stopped half a dozen times to look at moose. At 10$ the spa is fine but you must wear... More

A trip w/ its pros and cons. The Ice Museum was one of the more interesting things we saw in Alaska. The things they were able to do with ice were pretty amazing. It was obviously cold in the museum as they didn’t want the ice to melt, but parkas are provided, and the cold helps to move people along... More
